⚠️A Reminder About Anonymous Comments & Abuse⚠️

We unfortunately need to address an incident involving Shaun Robinson, who posted an abusive comment towards Pam in our Facebook group while using the anonymous posting feature.

After being challenged about the comment and asked to make a public apology, the comment was deleted.

Any abuse, personal attacks or unacceptable behaviour towards members of our community or staff at Woodlands Fishery will not be tolerated.

If you ever have an issue with Woodlands Fishery, our facilities, our staff or something that has happened during your visit, please speak to us directly. We will always listen and do our best to investigate and rectify genuine problems.

Hiding behind Facebook’s anonymous feature to abuse somebody, then deleting the comment when challenged, is not the way to deal with an issue. I think everyone can agree, it’s embarrassing😂

We’re very easy to contact, and we would much rather have the opportunity to resolve a problem than see members or staff being targeted online.

🐛Maggot Price Update🐛

Unfortunately, due to the continued increase in the price we pay for maggots, we’ve had to make a small adjustment to our prices.

We’ve tried to keep prices the same as last year and absorb the increased costs ourselves, particularly for anglers fishing here at Woodlands, but unfortunately this is no longer sustainable.

New prices:

🎣 Full pint: £4.00
🎣 Half pint: £2.50

For customers not fishing on site, there will be an additional 50p charge.

🪱 The good news is we’re currently able to keep our worm prices unchanged at £2.50 per 50g.

We’ve kept the increase as small as possible and appreciate everyone’s understanding.

Sometimes we forget just how privileged we are.

One of the best parts of being here is getting to witness moments like this, an adorable young badger quietly going about its evening, completely undisturbed, right here in our own back garden.

It’s a lovely reminder that we’re sharing this place with the wildlife that calls it home, and how lucky we are to experience it.

With the hot weather continuing, please remember to take care if you’re out and about. Make sure you stay hydrated, keep pets cool, and leave plenty of fresh water out if you can.

🐝 We’ve had some unexpected visitors at Woodlands today!

A swarm of bees has temporarily settled in one of our trees near the shop. We’ve cordoned off the area while they rest and look for their new home.

Please don’t disturb them — they’re an important part of our ecosystem and are usually very calm when swarming.

🎣💚 £625.11 RAISED IN JUST 3 WEEKS! 💚🎣

Wow.

Three weeks ago we put out some donated fishing tackle and asked people to leave whatever donation they felt was fair.

Since then, thanks to the incredible generosity of our anglers and visitors, we’ve raised an amazing £625.11 for Macmillan Cancer Support! 👏💚

To put that into perspective, that’s over £200 per week from tackle that might otherwise have been gathering dust in garages, sheds and tackle rooms.

We’ve still got plenty of quality items available too, including:
