☀️ From 1 April until 30 September, fires and barbecues are banned across the Cairngorms National Park, with a maximum fine of £500. ☀️

At Glenlivet we know how much you love the nature and communities here. By acting together we can protect people, wildlife, and the landscapes we all enjoy.

✅ Picnics, camping, and campervan stays are still very welcome
✅ Gas camping stoves are allowed (if used in line with the Scottish Outdoor
Access Code guidance), so you can still cook your dinner!
❌ Please don’t light fires or use disposable BBQs anywhere on the estate

We know sunny days and outdoor adventures go hand in hand, but it only takes one spark to cause serious damage. Thank you for helping us look after Glenlivet Estate and the wider National Park so that everyone can continue to enjoy it safely.

As more lambs appear in the Glenlivet fields and more wild species begin their breeding season, please:
🐯Keep your dog under proper control or on a lead at all times – preventing problems is easier than solving them.
👀 Look out for livestock before entering fields – and choose another path if you spot them.
🐑 Do not enter fields where there are lambs.
💩 Always pick up after your dog and dispose of waste responsibly in bins or take it home.

Please follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code https://www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot/practical-guide-all/dog-walkers

🔥Extreme Fire Risk 🔥Rothiemurchus and the whole of the Cairngorms National Park are facing an extremely high fire risk due to a prolonged spell of dry weather. The consequences of a wildfire can be devastating, endangering wildlife, destroying habitats, homes and businesses.

Our dedicated Rothiemurchus Rangers are doing their best to prevent wildfire. We have patrols going out every evening looking for any signs of fire. Plus, we’re chatting with people to raise awareness about how easily fires can start from things like disposable barbecues or discarded ci******es.

*We Need Your Help*
We’re asking you to be our extra eyes and noses! If you are visiting Rothiemurchus and spot any signs of fire or see or smell smoke, report it immediately to the Fire Service by calling 999

Remember the following guidelines:

❌Do not light fires, including campfires or barbecues.

🚬Ensure that cigarette butts are fully extinguished and discarded correctly in designated receptacles.

🔥Be careful when disposing of glass items – reflective items like glass can be a fire hazard when placed in direct sunlight.

⚠️The VERY HIGH wildfire warning remains in place across Scotland until Wednesday, 9 April.

An EXTREME wildfire warning has been issued for the south west, eastern, central, and north of Scotland for Thursday, 10 April.

🔥 Fires can start easily and spread rapidly during this time, so it's crucial that we all do our part to help prevent wildfires.

With the lambing season well underway, it is a good time to remind dog walkers of your responsibilities when nearby sheep and livestock.

Fright and running can cause ewes to abort their lambs. Scared or worried sheep may also abandon their lambs. If you allow your dog to worry or attack livestock, this could lead to:

- the farmer shooting your dog
- a fine not exceeding £40,000
- a 12 month prison sentence

Don't take the risk, take the lead! If you think sheep may be about, don't take a chance. Put your dog on a short lead and avoid the area if you can.
