We have a family of Jackdaws in the chimney every year. They build their nest from all sorts, they are very appreciative of handfuls of the horse's hair when they are shedding their winter coats, they pick it up as I'm grooming the horses. I also find bits of sheep wool and cow hair around the driveway when they've dropped stuff. They must be having a tidy today!

The Birch Eco Cottage off grid self catering accommodation magnolia is in full bloom, the frost may have hit the top ones, but the nose level ones are perfect. Raspberries are starting to form flowers, who will be here when they fruit??? The lane is very floriforus and the horses have been enjoying snacking on the dandelions on the way to and from the field,🥰

🎉 🥁 🎉 Rath Literary Festival is back for 2026! 📚🎶✍️

The Rath Literary Festival is pleased to announce their return this summer with a packed weekend of events coming to Rathfriland in June.

Running from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th June, events will take place in Chandler’s House and, thanks to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, the Drumballyroney Church and the Brontë Homeland Interpretative Centre.

Highlights include:
