🎭 IT'S NEARLY NORTH DEVON THEATRE TIME!
For those who enjoy theatre and the arts ...if you're visiting North Devon this month, you are in for a real treat! Barnstaple is host to the Fringe TheatreFest which takes place 25-28 June. At Upcott, we've got a fabulous bar and gamesroom for guests to use.
The bar is cosy, fully licensed and well stocked, and the traditional ‘gentlemen’s’ snooker room has a full size snooker table. So if the weather is not great and you fancy staying 'in' this is a great way to enjoy your stay!

One of the advantages to staying at Upcott House is that the manor house is situated in a beautiful setting in lovely grounds. Whilst staying here, you are free to walk around the gardens, woodland and fields of the estate (dogs must be kept on a lead in all areas of the grounds). There is plenty of space to explore, and children have freedom and safety within the grounds of the house.

Wow! What hot weather! It's times like these our guests are glad to be able to cool off by having a dip in our fully enclosed 45 foot by 15 foot swimming pool, with a patio and seating area.

There is also an area set aside for barbecues and a large, grassed children’s play area with a portable badminton net and a 14-foot trampoline with full safety netting.

TOWNS & VILLAGES TO VISIT WHEN STAYING AT UPCOTT HOUSE
Upcott House is ideally placed for a totally relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle or, for the adventurous and active, there are ample opportunities for walking, cycling, surfing, wildlife watching or visits to historic places.

The market town of Barnstaple with its shops, restaurants, Queen's Theatre and historic Barnstaple Pannier Market is only three miles away, and from there you can take the train to the county town of Exeter, leisurely travelling through the scenic Exe Valley.

To the west in the bustling village of Braunton, with a number of shops, pubs and restaurants, the fabulous Braunton Museum and Information Centre and the gateway to some of our best beaches, Crow Point, Saunton Sands and Croyde Bay.

To the north - Visit Ilfracombe a fabulous victorian town with spectacular coastline and walks as well as the seaside village of Combe Martin, and the picturesque villages of Lynton & Lynmouth linked by a unique water-driven cliff railway – a must-do experience!

If you worry about the unpredictability of the English weather when you visit Devon... we have a few rather good plus points to deal with those rainy days! Here at Upcott House we have a fully enclosed heated 45 foot by 15 foot swimming pool, with a patio and seating area - enjoyable in all weathers.

Plus, inside the main house there is a cosy, fully licensed and well stocked residents’ bar, and a traditional ‘gentlemen’s’ snooker room with a full size snooker table.

So there's plenty to do if the weather turns!
