Small dogs welcome. Our family has been coming to Dunster Beach for four generations and now are fortunate to have our own Beach Hut (also known as a chalet) which we rent out. We would love for you to be able to experience all the things that make Dunster Beach and our Ducks Crossing Beach Hut so special. With a beautiful aspect over the tranquil nature reserve from the rear deck and just a few m
etres from the beach, this is truly a place to make memories that last a lifetime. Dunster Beach consists of a number of beach huts/chalets together with a privately owned beach and nature reserve located on the Somerset Coast bordering Exmoor National Park. There is plenty to do at Dunster Beach and the surrounding area including the medieval village of Dunster with its charming Yarn Market, stunning Dunster Castle and the unforgettable "pooh sticks" bridge called "Gallox Bridge" or "Packhorse Bridge" which also has a fabulous equipped playground next to it which is perfect for picnics. We can make a range of other suggestions of things to do for all ages to help you plan your holiday. Ducks Crossing Beach Hut (Number 259) is well equipped for singles, couples and families- sleeping a maximum of 4. It boast a full sized permanent double bed which can be accessed from both sides and bunkbeds that are suitable for both adults and children. Kitchen including fridge/freezer; oven with grill, microwave, coffee machine etc. Bathroom with full sized sink and toilet. Lounge area with two leather occasional chairs, dining table and 4 chairs, TV, DVD player amongst other things. Free exclusive Wi-Fi. Front fenced enclosed patio with seating. Rear fenced deck area with 4 chairs, table and sun parasol. 3 bike rack. Free dedicated parking area. We welcome dogs (by prior arrangement), but due to the size of the Beach Hut can only accommodate one small, well-behaved dog. As keen watersports, hiking and nature enthusiasts, we have equipped the Beach Hut to facilitate these hobbies, although we are sure these adaptions will be enjoyed by everyone. Examples include outside wetsuit hanging area and wetsuit shoes drying hooks. Canoes and paddleboards can be strapped and locked to the fence at the side of the Beach Hut or to the rear fence posts. For those enjoying building sand castles or beachcombing for shells, the beach is just a few metres away. We have also provided some buckets and spades, cricket equipment and other outdoor and indoor games for our Guests to borrow. The nature reserve is immediately behind the Beach Hut and we are visited by a range of wild birds including a Kingfisher as well of course, ducks. A set of binoculars are provided for our Guests to borrow to bird watch or to sit and enjoy the long coastal views from the benches on the headland. Guests can use the on-site showerblocks which are close by and kept very clean by onsite staff. There are male and female shower facilities which provide large shower-rooms some with mobility supports, which are especially helpful if you have young children with you or are coming from the beach and need to shower off sand and wetsuits etc. Other onsite facilities include:
