Finally it feels like spring has arrived 😀😀 The swallows have returned to the barn, spring flowers adorn the hedgerows and lanes, and we have lambs, lots of lambs! The little flock of grey Face Dartmoors has only grown by one ewe lamb but 5 boys, however, we have loads of Herdwick ewe lambs (although we had forgotten they would arrive black!)
Just 4 ewes left to go. By our calculations they should have all lambed by now. BUT, we didn't take the rams away from the girls until they came in for the winter, so it could be another 3 weeks to go. Watch this space!

Tomorrow we welcome back a guest who has made several visits before. She describes The Daìry as her "happy place" ❤️. This time she is bringing her Mum!

Finally it feels like spring is really here. Verges are a riot of colour, the swallows are back, some of the sheep are turned out, started to harrow the fields and even cut some grass! None of which seemed possible 2 weeks ago! However, we are still waiting for the sheep to lamb. Only 3 so far - our first Fishleigh Herdwicks ❤️
