Severe Weather - Tramway Suspended
Today 21:15

Due to the severe weather, the Tramway will remain suspended until the end of service today (Friday 23rd October). All tickets are accepted on Blackpool Transport bus services.

A full check of the tracks and overhead lines will take place first thing tomorrow (Saturday 24th) before Tramway services can be safely restarted.

We apologise for any inconvenince this may cause.

Due to severe weather, our tramway is suspended until further notice. We are also diverting our bus services away from the promenade.

Service 1 & 2 will not be in operation

All other services will be diverting away from the promenade. Customers can still board these services from usual stops on Market Street & Corporation Street, they will however, be using Cookson Street and Park Road to divert away from the Town Centre.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Due to Storm Austen, we’re experiencing disruption across our bus network, and our tram network is temporarily suspended.

Please check our service updates page on our website or app before travelling, and take extra care when travelling during the storm.

Weather warning and updates from Blackpool Council

⚠️ Yellow Weather Warning • Storm Boelo will be bringing a very windy spell this weekend with some disruption likely across parts of northern UK.

Key info:

💨 We are bringing the Lightpool installation Super Magic Stone Circle in for the weekend. We hope it will be safe to restore the Super Magic Stone Circle and Crystal Tide on Monday.

💨 Blackpool Transport is monitoring conditions and if they deteriorate too much will bring the Western Train back to Starr Gate depot.

💨 Please take a little extra care when out and about and plan ahead for any journeys, as there could be a chance of some disruption

💨 Where possible, avoid coastal routes, the promenade and tree-lined paths, where impact of high winds may be stronger

💨 Household waste collections will go ahead as usual. Our teams are kindly requesting emptied bins are returned to household areas as soon as you able. Where you don’t think they would mind - helping neighbours out with this is also gratefully appreciated

💨 The HWRC (The Tip) will remain open, but you might want to avoid bringing large items that can be dangerous if caught in the wind
