We are just back after a lovely 4 night stay. The carriage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was so peaceful with the countryside all around and yet Bodiam castle and the pub were only half a mile or so down the road.
Train lovers will enjoy watching the 5 or so trains per day arriving and departing. Sadly no steam trains during our stay due to the fire risk as it has been so dry. My husband and father in law (aged 94) enjoyed a trip to Tenterden.
Meanwhile myself and sister in law visited Rye and climbed the church tower for amazing views. We also visited the castle, Great Dixter garden ( wonderful variety of flowers), Batemans and Pashley Manor gardens (beautiful). We ate at two pubs which were both very good; the White Dog and the Salehurst Halt.

It was great to be able to sit on the deck in front of the carriage in the evenings and completely relax. Thank you Bryan for your friendly welcome and also to the volunteers ( The Bodiam Group ) who keep the station looking good. 😃👏

Well Hello !

I am Colonel Holman Fred Stephens. As many of you will know I actually built this line in 1900 for farmers to transport their crops to Robertsbridge and onto London.

I am here at Bodiam Station to check how things are progressing. The volunteers have preserved the station and its gardens beautifully, what a splendid place the station has become. A real jewel in the crown of Kent and East Sussex Railway.

Now you can even take a few days break in The Bodiam Coach. Relax watching the countryside and the trains go by. Wonderful walks and pubs to visit and of course …. Steam trains to Tenterden just for fun.

There are still few days vacant in The Bodiam Coach from Friday 9th to the 19th October. Take advantage of the mild weather and the colourful autumn setting. Don’t take my word check it out for yourself at railwayglampingcoach.co.uk
