Granny Pod's Day Out – Gro For You, Tain 🌿
It was time for Granny Pods to enjoy another little adventure! This time, we headed to Gro For You in Tain, just a scenic 20-minute drive (14 miles) from Ardgay Glamping Pods.
As always, Granny Pods couldn't resist stopping to inspect the beautiful floral displays.🌸
For lunch, we visited the newly opened Café 11 at the Gro For You Community Innovation Campus, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, the welcome was warm, and it's exactly the sort of hidden gem we love recommending to our guests.
If you're travelling with little ones, there's also a brilliant play area to keep them entertained while you relax. What makes it even more special is that every visit helps support a wonderful local community project. A great meal that gives something back – you can't ask for more than that. 💚
One of the best things about staying at Ardgay Glamping Pods is that you're perfectly placed to discover places just like this. Whether it's scenic drives, beautiful gardens, cosy cafés, castles, beaches or Highland adventures, there's something different to enjoy every day – and we're always happy to share our favourite local recommendations.

Just 13.2 miles (around a 23-minute drive) from Ardgay Glamping Pods, you'll find Invercassley Tearooms, Bar & Bistro—a lovely spot for a light bite, coffee, or one of their delicious homemade fresh fruit tarts. 🍓🥧
With both indoor and outdoor seating, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Highland scenery.
Fancy stretching your legs afterwards? Why not take the 3-mile walk to Alt an Tuir Burn? It's a great way to work off those extra calories while taking in the peaceful surroundings. 🌿🥾

Granny Pods day out, side quest.
En route to Lochinver, we took a wee detour to Scourie. Granny Pods was in desperate need of a coffee, so we popped into the local grocery store for advice. They pointed us toward Scourie Lodge, and what a recommendation it turned out to be.

Granny Pods had a latte, I went for an Americano, and we both agreed — it was the best coffee we’ve had in ages. We were a bit disappointed that there were no plain scones, but a triple chocolate scone was on offer. I was dubious… and then completely blown away. Moist, rich, and full of flavour.

Scourie Lodge comes highly recommended for anyone in need of delicious coffee and a surprisingly fantastic scone.

A brilliant Granny Pods outing. We took the scenic 50mile/80km drive from Ardgay Glamping Pods to Lochinver, enjoying every twist and turn of the Highland roads. (around an hour and a quarter driving time) Lochinver Larder pies did not disappoint — delicious as always. Already planning the next adventure.

🌿 A Lovely Find at Struie Glamping Pod 🎨
Today, I came across the most beautiful little painting, which was left in our visitors' book — a countryside scene created by Anna Black, age 14, one of our recent guests. Her eye for colour and detail is incredible, and she’s captured the landscape around Struie Glamping Pod with such charm and talent. It’s always inspiring to see young artists bringing the local scenery to life, and this one absolutely made my day. Moments like this remind us why this place feels so special. 💚✨
