We’ve had a brilliant season, thanks so much to everyone who has come to stay this year.

Our fluffy little patch of heaven closes for winter at the end of the month and we’ll be taking bookings right up until closing time.

It looks like another dry one this weekend, t-shirt weather all the way! And in case it sways you to enjoy one last weekend of camping, we’ll be doing pizzas on Saturday and will happily hand out hot water bottles before the barn closes to take the edge off these chilly nights!

If you’ve been to Big Sky, you’ll have met Em.

First and foremost she’s the life and soul of the place. She’s behind all the little signs, messages, and epic loo art that give Big Sky so much character.

And let’s not forget her awesome alpaca meet’n greets, and those ever-popular Saturday night pizza parties!

You may or may not know that a couple of years ago on her 37th birthday, Em was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (let’s call it YOPD)

To give you an idea of who is, SINCE then she has started an Etsy shop filled with her artistic cards and creations, many of which are completed in the dead of night because those pesky Parky meds wake her up early.

In 2025 she hosted a Young Onset Parkinson’s gathering at Big Sky, followed by the first ever Parky in the Park microfestival this summer, designed for people living with Parkinson’s. She’s also started up a monthly online tea break so folks with YOPD can catch up with other’s in a similar boat, and she has pledged to raise £50,000 for to fund a Parkinson’s Nurse for a year.

This Summer Em announced “I’m going to go on an adventure and ride a recumbent trike from Big Sky to the south of France (Em’s Dad lives down there). No biggy.

So, in early October off she’s gonna go, a solo rider with a few weeks of road ahead of her. She’s ridiculously brave, gloriously funny and massively inspiring, and all we ask is that you share this film/post and follow the journey’s posts, maps and video blogs at www.emkarembo.uk

You can donate if you want but a share and a message of encouragement once she’s underway would be amazing. Even if the real wind isn’t playing ball, we can all be a tailwind.

Our Lotus Belle is for sale!

After four years we are seeking a new home for our gorgeous Lotus Belle tent.

She’s a 5m Hybrid Belle (Deluxe Cream) and comes with 5m Cocoon Lining Deluxe inner tent and full circle Coir matting (which comes in 2 semi circular halves for easy fitting. We also have a Roof/UV cover in Pro White which hasn’t been used.

The outer skin of the Belle has become quite weathered which is why we’ve decided to replace her, but she’s still fully functional, waterproof (the last week has been a good test!) and guests right up until last weekend have really enjoyed their stays.

We bought the Belle in 2022 for just over £3000 with all the accessories above and we’re looking for offers in the region of £1500. Send us a direct message with an offer and the lucky buyer is welcome to come and stay for a day or two before taking her away as part of the deal!

We’ll be taking her down towards the end of September so ideally would sell it by the end of the month so a buyer could see the tent in all her glory!

After four years we are seeking a new home for our gorgeous Lotus Belle tent.

A campsite where you can get back to basics but still enjoy a little bit of comfort 🍷

A place where pitches and pods are spaced out and private, but there’s still a communal barn (and other areas) to make friends and settle in a sofa 🛋️

Whip out the Merlin app 🦅 or settle into the book nook or spinning library to soak up a chapter or two 📖

But don’t trust us, trust the reviews (and then you’ll trust us 😝)

Camping season isn’t over yet. If you’ve been saying “one day we’ll make it to Big Sky” then why not this year? 🏕️

The other day Dave challenged the rest of the Big Sky crew to each create a glamping experience with a maximum budget of £150. Game on!

A couple of days later everyone pitched their ideas, and they were all so fun we’re making it happen! For a chance to stay you can bid a fee for the date of your choice and 100% will be donated to Parkinson’s UK’s work towards support people living with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (like both our Emma’s!).

As these are pop-up experiences there will be an element of adventure and surprise to each one! We can’t guarantee that they’ll look exactly like the visions here (although they have been created using the actual products!). In true Big Sky style we’ll naturally do everything we can to make your stay wonderfully memorable!

They’ll be available for stays from Monday 24th August to Thursday September 10th and the booking process will require you visiting the link and sending us a message with your suggested price! We’ll get back to you within 24 hours of your bid with a yes or no, and then with more details about how to prepare for your stay.

So without further ado, here are the team’s offerings!

The Castaway experience! (by Cedar)
Arrive shipwrecked to your isolated "desert island" pitch. The basics to build your own camp will all be provided but you will have to forage for it in the undergrowth and discarded packages in true castaway style. You will have to actively build your shelter if you want to survive! The mystery box will be hidden from view. If you find it will you open it? Well, that's up to you. But if you want a bit of fun and luxury, we highly recommend you do!
Castaway fans line up! This is a fun experience not to be taken too seriously!

Dream Bigger (by PinkEms!)
Ems' tent brings the outside inside with a 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids' vibe. Everything is suddenly huge as you step through the door. Stargaze at night with a view right up to the sky and fall asleep in a giant bed surrounded by flower petals.
