Spring comes to Abbey Mill

The winter has been kinder to Cumbria this year. No floods. Rain, yes, little snow. There are signs of pre-spring; buds on trees (even rose shoots), snowdrops, daffodil shoots a-plenty.

We've had to decide against pets. A surfeit of big hairy dogs has meant that we are going to have to re-carpet and de-smell. The flat is really too small for anything much bigger than a hamster.

It's been most encouraging and gratifying to receive such positive responses to our initial post concerning Beckside. The website is very nearly ready to fly. We've had a look at what's been done. There are a few creases to iron out, photos to include, and then we're there. Watch this space!

Since re-opening for self-catering in mid-May, we have had 14 sets of guests. All very happy with the flat (see comments at http://www.abbeymill-hadrianswall.co.uk/guestBook.asp). One couple has rebooked for next year.
