Last few jobs completed! Excellent Dandelion harvest, and a bumper crop of rosemary.

I’ve already made my dandelion liver tonic to take home for the run up to Christmas (recipe on my public profile Reprobate Mum)

And the rosemary is for our (not vegetarian) rosemary cashew nuts (you need to roast them with sea salt, Freja Bone Broth, and blitzed rosemary powder. They are 👌

Not such a bumper apple crop this year, but there’s time and it’s definitely raining
today! Now off to Quince Honey Farm for a last meal and to stock up on honey (natch!) and their fabulous honey hand cream!

One of those days where it all went right! bay was breezy but bright and warm. After kites we went body boarding in the frothy coffee churn of the Atlantic which even little lyra finally learned to love. We followed up with a sunny game of crazy golf, then home for a haircut (I got a fringe!) and sausages and mash in before I’d even had a chance to get a picture of it. Lovely memories.

I haven’t attempted the walk to since I was pregnant with this one 8 years ago. If you scroll hard enough you’ll see me 7 months pregnant puffing up the hill. Look how far we’ve come (and you will get a taste of what the past 7 years have been like with this little bag of crazy 💕

Little plug for my friend’s daughters (!) cafe! These guys are the reason we have a place in after we met them at Camp bestival and our kids joined forces and let us get tipsy together. 10 years on, it’s wonderful to see the lovely Amelie setting up shop right here (tucked away in the Crosstree centre) with her brand, serving delicious drinks and baked goods with a Native American vibe… (these guys are known for their travels). She’s doing a dosa night pop up too, so keep an eye out and follow for updates 💕

With all the hot weather this year, we’ve had a full house all summer!

As the season draws to a close, we’re looking forward to getting down over the long bank holiday to relieve the apple tree, deep clean all the sand and make sure the lint filter’s been emptied.

Excited to hear all your exploits in our Mims’ Cottage guestbook. We do read them all! Will post the best ones from this summer here 🌞

We wanted to go to Tunnels Beach in Ilfracombe, a sheltered rocky beach with a sea pool. But it was closed (permanently?) due to a rock fall. Instead, we went to nearby Hele Bay where my daughter and a friend went rockpooling for hours.

I had as lovely swim (until I saw a little jelly fish!) then we came back for wine and takeaway fish and chips at a neighbours!

Our holiday was short and sweet, and once we’d packed up the house, we went for our transitional stop Quince Honey Farm before hitting the end of half term traffic.

The roses are beautiful- and the honey worth stocking up on!
