The best kind of holiday is often the one you don’t need recovering from afterwards. No rushing to fit everything in. No overpacked itineraries and no feeling like you need another week off once you get home!

😎Hope everyone’s had a lovely long weekend and enjoyed the sunshine!😎

I must admit we’ve not done a great deal, and if we have done a bit around home, it’s been in the morning before it became scorchio!

Long weekends always seem to fly by, don’t they, and then I have no idea what day it is for the rest of the week! Anyway, wishing everyone a good week ahead from all of us at The Retreat.

Cold water shock is real and dangerous! The air temperatures are rising, but water temperatures in the sea and rivers etc haven’t caught up! Learn this technique. It could save lives. Float to live!

We’ve been a little quiet on here lately…

Life’s been busy behind the scenes helping our daughter move house, so social media has taken a bit of a back seat for a week or two!

Things are starting to settle again now, and with spring turning into summer, we’re looking forward to welcoming more guests back to The Retreat over the coming months.

We do still have some availability left this year, including our last August week, so if you’ve been thinking about a few days away by the coast, feel free to message us anytime.

We love going to the North Star Hotel at Flamborough for a meal and what could be better than fresh crab and lobster sourced locally!

“Just spent a lovely few days at The Retreat Holiday Lodge with all the comforts of home and in quiet surroundings.
The weather was glorious whilst we were there and being able to sit out on the decked patio area in the sunshine was a delight!
The lodge is equipped with everything you need for your break and with the added bonus of being dog friendly.
It’s very spacious inside being all open plan, has 2 double bedrooms, one with en suite and a main bathroom.
It’s also within close proximity to lovely coastal and woodland walks, Sewerby Hall and gardens and the dog friendly Ship Inn.
Alison and her husband Ian are wonderful hosts, very informative and couldn’t do enough to ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxing.
We will definitely be returning to The Retreat Holiday Lodge again!”
