Positive Puffin news!
We’re thrilled to announce another record-breaking year on Skomer Island with 52,019 Puffins recorded this spring.
Puffin numbers are declining at many sites around the UK, but Skomer bucks the trend – and it’s thanks to our long-term monitoring work that we know this.
Our annual counts are a core part of conservation work on Skomer. They help us to better understand how our seabird populations are changing both locally and nationally. This data helps us to inform our conservation work so we can better protect these special seabirds.
If you’d like to support our seabird monitoring work on Skomer, you can donate to our Big Give appeal from midday on the 22nd to 29th April: https://champ.ly/mqNUNCQg
