Redefining Off-Grid Hospitality | Scotland

This one means an extraordinary amount to us.

After countless decisions, challenges, refinements and a huge amount of hard work, we’re incredibly proud to finally share Moya with you.

When we first created Kabn on Loch Fyne, we wanted to prove that luxury didn’t need to be complicated. That privacy, beautiful surroundings, thoughtful design and the freedom to simply be could create something genuinely special.

We’ve carried that belief into everything we’ve done since.

With Moya, we wanted to take it further.

Tucked away beside a secluded lochan in the Cairngorms, we’ve created our most ambitious cabin yet. A new level of comfort and detail, but with the same simplicity, warmth and closeness to nature that have always defined Kabn.

It’s taken a great deal to get here, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way.

More than anything, we can’t wait for people to experience the place we’ve fallen in love with.

Moya is officially open.

With love,
Charlie & Amber

MEET THE MAKERS — INVERARAY SEAFOOD SHACK

Some of what makes a stay at Kabn special has very little to do with the cabin itself.

The Kabn is only part of it. The people and the landscape around it are what give a place its character.

For the first film in our Meet the Makers series, we joined Ivan and Claudio on Loch Fyne.

They head out onto the water to catch langoustines, haul the creels by hand, and bring the day’s catch back to .seafood.shack in Inveraray.

Their work is shaped by the loch, its tides, its weather; time spent learning the waters around them.

Meet the Makers is our way of getting to know the people behind the things that make a place memorable.

First up: Ivan and Claudio, Loch Fyne.

The beauty of a season is knowing it will not stay.

Utsuroi — the Japanese idea of finding beauty in gradual change.

At Loch Fyne, the shift between seasons is rarely dramatic. It comes in the light, the air, the colour of the hills and the way the landscape feels from one week to the next.

A season changing, quietly.

A place is more than its landscape.

It is the people who live within it, work within it and understand its rhythms.

Meet Ivan and Claudio. They catch langoustines in Loch Fyne, just outside the Kabns, and serve them fresh from their .seafood.shack .

Local people. Local waters. A deeper connection to place.

More coming soon.

Here, nature sets the rhythm..

The best escapes don’t ask you to choose between adventure and tranquillity.

They offer both.

A place where contemporary design sits effortlessly within nature, where every detail has been thoughtfully considered, and where the journey is every bit as rewarding as the arrival🍃

Summer has a different rhythm here. Softer. Quieter. More elemental.

Water, wood, fire, sky — and the rare luxury of time.

Days at Kabn are shaped by simple things: morning coffee by the loch, cold swims, warm timber underfoot, slow lunches outside and evenings beside the fire as the light moves across the hills.

Design-led cabin retreats in Scotland, created for those looking to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience a quieter kind of luxury.

Exceptional places are shaped by exceptional people.

In a workshop surrounded by East Lothian farmland, Silvan Studio transforms whole trees into furniture, interiors and objects designed to last generations. Their work sits at the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern making, guided by a simple belief: good materials, handled with care, need very little decoration. The result is work that feels honest, timeless and unmistakably connected to the place it came from.

Meet the Makers | 01: Stick

We first discovered Stick last year and were immediately drawn to his instinct for earthy textures and natural tones. His work carries a quiet depth, each piece feeling both grounded and entirely individual. It felt like a natural partnership, and we were delighted to collaborate on a limited edition series for our Kabns that reflects this raw, elemental character.

Stick created a collection of wares marbled from multiple clays, including locally sourced wild clay. Each piece is glazed internally, while the exterior is left unglazed to preserve a tactile, organic surface. The result is something you notice instantly on touch, a subtle but powerful connection to the landscape beyond the cabin walls.

Every piece is fired twice at temperatures reaching 1250°C, a process that demands patience, precision, and care. It is a reminder that the most meaningful objects are shaped slowly, through time, heat, and intention.

When he is not at the wheel, Stick is dedicated to passing on his craft, teaching traditional wheel thrown techniques at Crown Works and County Hall Pottery. We are proud to work with makers like him, people who care deeply not only about what they create, but how they create it.

Proud moment for us.

We’ve been named Best Sustainable Wild & Remote Stay 2026 by x .

Amber and I have always believed that luxury and sustainability aren’t opposing ideas, and that it’s possible to push the boundaries of both at the same time. That true luxury is about thoughtfulness, restraint, and connection to place, not excess. From the very beginning, we’ve tried to build something that respects the landscape it sits in while still delivering a high standard of design, comfort and experience.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we’re not perfect and never will be. We’re always pushing to improve, to do things better, and to keep raising the standard of what this space can be.

Grateful to all of our wonderful guests who have supported the journey so far and truly get it. We can’t wait to share with you what we’re building next.
