Mine is definitely Tresaith to Aberporth.

One of the lovely things about visiting the Ceredigion coast with your four-legged friends is that from 1 October until 1 May, dogs can enjoy the freedom of our beaches with no seasonal restrictions. 🐶💙

That means plenty of opportunities for sandy paws, seaside walks and those beautiful coastal adventures — without having to leave your best friend behind!

And with 60 miles of Ceredigion coastline to explore, there are plenty of beaches and coastal paths to discover.

From Plas Y Wern Holidays, you’re perfectly placed to explore this beautiful stretch of coast, with Tresaith, Aberporth, Penbryn and Llangrannog all within easy reach.

🐕 After a day of exploring, come back to our peaceful 7-acre site, let the dogs have a run in our off-lead dog walking field, and settle down for a cosy evening.

🌊 60 MILES OF COASTLINE TO EXPLORE…

Get your wiggle on, do you love a good walk???

Did you know the Ceredigion Coast Path stretches for 60 miles, following the spectacular coastline between the Dyfi Estuary in the north and the Teifi Estuary at Cardigan in the south?

It’s a wonderful way to discover this beautiful stretch of West Wales, with dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, wildlife, geology, archaeology and plenty of history along the way. 🐬🌿
And the whole route can be walked at your own pace, split into seven sections, with each section ending in a town or village where you can find accommodation and transport.

🏆 Complete the 60-mile challenge and you can even claim a free certificate!

And this is where we come in…

📍 Plas Y Wern Holidays is perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful section of the Ceredigion coast.

From us, it’s around a 25–30 minute walk to Tresaith, where you can join the coastal path and continue towards Aberporth, around another 30–40 minutes, with some beautiful scenery along the way.

Head north towards Penbryn and onwards towards Llangrannog, or simply choose a shorter section and enjoy a day by the sea before returning to your accommodation.
After a day on the coast, come back to your own little corner of West Wales…

🌊 From Plas Y Wern to the Cardigan Bay Coastal Path…

Where will you walk? 🥾🐾

Llangrannog anyone??

One of the things we love about staying at Plas Y Wern is being able to walk straight from the farm and explore this spectacular stretch of the Ceredigion coast — no need to get in the car! 🌿🌊

🐾 And yes, the coastal paths are dog friendly!

From Plas Y Wern, it’s around 25–30 minutes downhill to Tresaith, where you can join the coastal path and choose your direction…

➡️ West towards Aberporth
Around 30–40 minutes from Tresaith. There’s a climb on this section, but once you’re over it, it’s relatively flat all the way into Aberporth. 🌊

⬅️ North towards Penbryn & Llangrannog

It’s around 40 minutes from Tresaith to Penbryn, which is steep in parts and close to edge of cliff.

Then from Penbryn to Llangrannog is another 1 hour 10 minutes, with some steeper sections but the scenery makes every step worthwhile! 💚🌊

And remember… the walk back to Plas Y Wern is uphill! 😂 If you’ve enjoyed a well-earned drink at the pub in Tresaith 🍻 and your legs have had enough, there’s a local taxi service available in Tresaith to bring you back.

So from our doorstep you can explore Tresaith, Aberporth, Penbryn and Llangrannog on foot, with beautiful coastal scenery all the way.

🍄 MARGO… AND THE GIANT MUSHROOMS! 🍄😂

What would your dog do???

We’ve had some seriously HUGE mushrooms springing up in our dog walking field this week… and honestly, they’re getting bigger than Margo! 🐾🤣

📸 Margo has very kindly provided herself as a size comparison because apparently a tape measure wasn’t dramatic enough! 😂

Don’t worry… we’re definitely NOT eating them! 🙈🍄

But it did make me realise just how much our dogs love having space to explore here at Plas Y Wern. 💚

🐾 Our dog walking field gives your four-legged friends plenty of room to sniff, explore and have a proper run around, with our 7 acres of countryside, coastal views and lovely walks right on the doorstep.

And yes… apparently it also grows mushrooms of impressive proportions! 😂🍄

🌊 Have you ever really looked at where Cardigan sits????

This view really shows just how special the setting of Cardigan is. 💙

Here you can see the River Teifi winding its way towards the sea, with St Dogmaels, Gwbert and Poppit Sands all visible in the distance.
And then beyond that… Cardigan Bay and the open sea. 🌊

It’s one of the things we love about this part of West Wales — you’re never far from the water, but you also have a lovely market town, riverside walks, beaches, coastal villages and miles of beautiful countryside right on your doorstep.

From Cardigan, you can head down towards Gwbert and the coast, wander around historic St Dogmaels, enjoy the beach at Poppit Sands or follow the River Teifi in the opposite direction into the Welsh countryside.
And from Plas Y Wern Holidays, we're perfectly placed to explore it all. 🌿

🔨✨ A little time out from bookings… but definitely not from work!

This week we’ve taken a little time between bookings to give Awel Y Môr some TLC and get a few jobs ticked off the list. 🧽🧹

The barn floor has been stripped back and waxed again, giving it a lovely fresh finish, and our woodburner has had a little makeover too — it’s gone from cream to pewter, and we absolutely love the new look! 🩶🔥

We’ve also added new curtain poles — it’s amazing how these little changes can freshen up a room! 🪟✨
And finally… we’ve listened to our lovely guests! ❤️

🍽️ A dishwasher has now been installed! 🎉

It’s something guests have mentioned, so we thought… why not? We want your stay to be as relaxing as possible, and who wants to spend their holiday washing dishes? 😂

Although… if we’re being completely honest, it’s a bit of a win-win because it’s going to make changeover days a whole lot easier for us too! 😉🙌

So while the bookings may have slowed down for a few days, there’s always something happening behind the scenes at Plas Y Wern Holidays.

We’re constantly tweaking, improving and listening to feedback to make sure our lovely guests have the best stay possible. 🌊🌿🐾

Now… what shall we tackle next? 👀😂 Answers please we’re open to suggestions???
