An absolute honour to be invited to the Station Commanders Annual Reception last night at RAF Leeming.
The Akiak team have been delivering a run of bushcraft sessions in support of personnel over the last year, and we are super excited to announce that we have the next year of sessions booked in as well!

🥾 Rope Rescue! ⛑️

One third of the Akiak team, Dave, has been on a rope rescue technician’s course this week, run by the brilliant Rope Rescue Ltd team, at the wonderful Profect Training & Consultancy Ltd venue, Hull.

📖 An excellent training facility meant that the learning and scenarios were enjoyable, thought-provoking and engaging.

🙏 A massive thanks to the instructors, and also to the team from RIDGEGEAR for their input and equipment!

⛏️ Site recce! 🪨

Team Dava have spent the morning exploring the wonderful and mystical area that is Parys Mountain here on Anglesey.
As expected, it was raining…hard!

The opencast mining operation is over 250 years old, but habitation in this area dates back almost 4,000 years! 😮

The colours of the rocks and remnants of the past are as colourful as each other…..what a place!

These boxes are mainly cookie base.

Collection today between 10 am and noon
And 5pm and 7pm

These boxes contain nuts, eggs, dairy and Soya!

🪓 Bushcraft! 🔥

Over the last couple of weeks the Akiak team have partnered up with Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Service to provide their Leeming based troops with some quality time outdoors, doing something a little different to the norm’! 🌳

Troops experienced a variety of topics and worked on woodland projects - who hasn’t split a tree trunk with axes and wedges before, right?! 😎

A couple of brilliant sessions, with enthusiastic and wonderful people 🫡

They tackled their expedition with enthusiasm, bravery and confidence, taking the sun, wind, rain and cold all in their stride 🥰

🔥 Bushcraft! 🪓

Today the team again had the absolute pleasure of hosting our colleagues from RAF Leeming on Exercise Wellness Bushcraft! 🌳

More fire lighting, safe use of tools, water filtering & purification, cooking a camp snack and project work around the woodland 😎

A wonderful bunch and excellent weather ☀️
