The IRTE Northern Centre began 2026 with a CPD presentation from Darwen based Multevo Limited at the Barton Manor hotel near Preston.
Thirty-six members and guests were given a presentation about the services provided by Multevo and the specialist products available from them.
Multevo were represented on the evening by Matthew Lang (Head of Specialist Equipment), Jake Cowburn (Technical Supervisor) and Ben Fury (Service Manager).
Those present were first given an introduction into the company history that was founded in 2010 as Multihog UK Limited in East Lancashire with the operation rebranding in 2018 to Multevo and expanding beyond just distributing specialized Multihog tool carriers into a comprehensive, nationwide provider of civil engineering, highway maintenance and workshop services.
The audience were informed that the company is expanding yearly that has seen continual growth and boasting a 1,133% increase in employees and a 697% increase in turnover over the five years leading up to 2025.
It was ranked 398th in the Financial Times' Europe's Fastest Growing Companies in 2025 and recently expanded its premises in Darwen with additional facilities and workshop space.
The speakers then gave the members and guests a look at the portfolio of equipment available from them that includes products from Multihog with their range of machinery including MH, MX and CX variants, the compact sweeper, Hydovo and the Mercedes Benz Unimog.
The audience were informed that the customer base generally comes from council authorities, airport maintenance contractors, forestry industry and individual applications that are purchased for specialist use operations.
Each vehicle specification and its roles were covered in detail with the assistance of video clips that explained the power units, hydraulics, drive systems and the attachment of the specialist equipment to the vehicles depending on the role or multiple roles that it was to undertake.
The speakers then spoke about the re-furnishment of equipment and the audience were informed that some Unimog equipment owned by a council authority had recently been through their workshops for a gearbox replacement when the original fit unit had failed, with the vehicle dating from 1991.
Due to the expansion of the workshop facility at Darwen and customer requests the audience were informed that Multevo had now expanded their operations to undertake commercial vehicle inspection and repair work, with a full range of services now available to the operator.
A very informative question and answer session rounded off the evening before long serving committee member John Haworth officially thanked the speakers on behalf of the members and guests for their informative presentation.
