What a momentous evening it was attending the Shropshire Chamber of Business Awards 2026 as a finalist in the Outstanding Customer Service Category! To be surrounded by so many successful businesses was inspirational. Congratulations to the winners of each category….not for us this time, but we are coming away as a finalist and we’ll take that. 🤩

How typically English is this - a host of golden daffodils in the village of Cardington, near Church Stretton. This is the view looking down the lane towards the 500-year-old Royal Oak, said to be the oldest continually licensed pub in Shropshire. I enjoy listening to birdsong when I’m out taking photographs, but this shot was accompanied by a particularly noisy rook which you can see perched in the tree at the top of the picture.

Wilstone Cottage was shortlisted in the ‘Best for Walking’ category in the Sykes Gem awards 2025!! Unfortunately we didn’t get a Gold, Silver or Bronze award this time, but we’re so proud of our little gem for making the top 5 amongst a tough field of outstanding Sykes properties!!
