Officially the sunniest changeover day of the year ☀️ we have all 3 cottages gone and 3 arriving this afternoon so it’s a busy day and hopefully time for some sunshine later. What are your bank holiday plans?

Spring walks🌷 ~ It’s been a lovely way to start the Easter weekend 🐥 with a nice long walk from our doorstep with a mid way stop at the for a coffee ☕️ and I somehow managed to resist a cake 🍰 which wasn’t easy with their incredible selection.
There’s something so calming about walking in nature 🍃 don’t you think? We have lots of walks from the cottages many of which have gorgeous scenery and some with incredible panoramic views.
We also have a beautiful village within a short walk and a long established, award winning pub 🥇 where you can stop for a beer mid dog walk 🐶 or book for dinner or lunch, it’s a special place.

Anyone else dreaming of this? Not long now, just a few more dark days and the signs of spring will be here before we know it🌼.
In between the Jan and Feb bookings, we will be refreshing cottages ready for 2026 season to kick off.
One of the investments we’ve made for our guests is a dedicated EV charging station ⚡️; with electric cars being increasingly popular 🚗 , we wanted to provide our guests with a facility so they have piece of mind that even in a rural setting, they have full confidence that they can zoom around the amazing Yorkshire countryside wirh enough charge!
If you have any other suggestions/ recommendations for an improved guest experience, we would love to hear your thoughts, always. Just drop me a message anytime 😊

The most beautiful sunrise and perfect January frosty morning ☀️ and just 1 minute walk away ❤️.
FYI… To keep it real, for your information, I had to walk twice as far as I wanted because I realised I lost my key, so had to retrace my steps only to discover it was in the door… anyone find this happens to them or is it just me?!

Happy 2026 ❄️. This was yesterday on our way home from a lovey frosty walk with Crayke castle standing proud on the hill as the sun sets.
I’ll be wrapping up warm soon for another sunset walk, which is your favourite time of day for a walk? 🚶 ❄️ 🌅
For me, this is one of my favourite times of year, bit controversial I know, it’s mainly because I love snow and cold weather and it’s my birthday month 🥳! What’s your favourite time of year?
We have a few weeks without cottage guests which is the first time since early 2025 so I’m loving the slower pace 💤 and we are planning some light refurbing ready for spring 2026. We choose to keep our cottages open all year round so if you fancy a winter break in beautiful North Yorkshire pop onto our bio for the link to see availability, there’s plenty in Jan and Feb.

Beautiful, sunny and crisp morning at Crayke Cottages. What a busy season we have had and it is still continuing. We are fully booked over Christmas and still have one cottage free for new year ⭐. Plenty of pre-Christmas spaces if you fancy visiting and the Christmas markets, for their beautiful twinkly town or for their incredible Christmas ‘Wizard of Oz’. September you’re already almost 3 weeks in and we are still very busy here with the cottages; It’s always one of our busiest months 🍂
We’ve had it all, ☀️ ☔️ 💨 and as we wave bye bye to guests from the 3 cottages and prepare them for our next set of guests, I thought I’d do what the kids have been doing all month, give our fluffy friends a treat 🍎 ! Not sure if they’re allowed the odd apple but they certainly love them!

More ☀️ for our guests arriving today, who needs to go abroad with this weather! We have Chestnut cottage free this week if anyone fancies a few days of good old Yorkshire air and hospitality. Chestnut sleeps 2 🛌, is dog friendly 🐾 and is a really spacious cottage for 2 wirh a brand new kitchen and bathroom just renovated earlier this year. It has a living room with open dining area separate from the kitchen and it’s really charming and homely so gives a lovely welcoming feel.
