When we launched Curated Cottages, we knew we wanted the business to stand for something more than just booking holidays.

We wanted to support a local cause that genuinely transforms lives.

That’s why we chose to support the Dorset Children’s Foundation. The charity supports disabled children and their families across Dorset by funding specialist equipment, therapies, activities and opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.

Importantly, Dorset Children’s Foundation receives no government funding and relies on fundraising, donations and local support. 100% of all donations go directly to support local families.

We were introduced to the charity through our son’s school and quickly realised the incredible difference it makes to families throughout Dorset.

At the same time, we wanted to ensure accessibility was part of what we offer as a business. Properties such as Dawn Lighthouse offer accessible accommodation designed to help more families enjoy a holiday in Dorset. Because everyone deserves the chance to make special memories together.

Every stay booked through Curated Cottages supports the Dorset Children’s Foundation and the remarkable work it does. At the heart of this work is The Windmill Wellness Hub, the Foundation’s dedicated community space and the centre of its service delivery. The Windmill is a fully accessible, multi-purpose hub for children and parent/carers, featuring an accessible changing facility, a cinema and a sensory space. It provides a safe, welcoming environment where families can gather, learn and access an ever-growing range of activities and services.
Funds raised through our charity partnership will directly support The Windmill Wellness Hub.
