Welcome to “The Green Frog” – GREEN because we strive to be, and FROG standing for Fishing, Relaxing and Organic Gardening! (and because we like frogs!) – we know it sounds corny, but even the name makes you smile! Our aim is to create in our own small way a facility here at Hammerlands in Moffat where the whole family can spend time in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of the Upper Annan Valle

y surrounded by the Moffat Hills. Fishing - for all the family - whether it be on our 4.5 acre spring fed lochan, with crystal clear waters (where the discerning fly-angler can see the fully-finned fish as well as trying to catch them) or in our smaller lochan, ideal for beginners, (or indeed experienced fishermen or women) who simply want to catch a trout for their supper! All equipment is available for hire if you haven’t packed your own and there are friendly staff on hand to give a helping hand to those trying fishing for the first time. Relaxing – perhaps by the very act of fishing – but perhaps also by simply enjoying wandering through our shop, café, small garden centre and childrens play area, or by enjoying a walk outside in the fresh air around Hammerlands itself.

Don't get caught short...and don't risk a £40,000 fine!

Did you know, the irresponsible disposal of the contents of chemical toilets in the countryside is a criminal act and carries a maximum fine of £40,000.? That includes disposing of chemical toilet waste in public toilets or sinks, which can block facilities for others and creates a very unpleasant clean-up job for staff.

If you're exploring the National Park in a motorhome or campervan, please plan ahead. There are waste disposal facilities at Tarbet Pier Picnic site, and some independent campsites also offer these facilities for a small charge - you should always check with them for availability of services and costs.

Let's keep the National Park clean and enjoyable for everyone.

(📌Even non-chemical motorhome toilet waste disposed of in public toilets can cause blockages and issues for other visitors and staff.)

Motorcycle Mechanic Wanted

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Motorcycle Mechanic to join our busy workshop.

The Role

* Diagnose and repair motorcycles of all makes and models.
* Carry out servicing, MOT preparation, and general maintenance.
* Fault-find electrical and mechanical issues.
* MOT Testing
* Tyre fitting and servicing
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop.

What We’re Looking For

* Previous experience as a motorcycle mechanic.
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Passion for motorcycles and attention to detail.
