MORNING SUN // when we bought this old girl we really did think we’d be complete for Summer ‘26. How wrong could we have been? 🙄
As every layer was peeled back, another can of worms opened.
The irony that the the chimney on the inside could be in a far worse condition that the stack on the outside was mind blowing.
The fact a previous neighbour drilled out our supporting beams from their side to install new steels on theirs left us dumfounded 🙈 (and sinking)
Who knew you could hide 3 phase electric cables inside lead pipe? 🤷🏻♂️💥 yes, we took Filey back to the dark ages for several hours one Saturday afternoon. 🙈
or that planning would drag our application for new replacement sliding sash windows a cool 18 months? 🤷🏻♂️ (and we still can’t have black at the front despite the property being in a conservation area and them being black originally 😢)
Anyway….. James & I are still smiling (and looking for third jobs to help pay for the rest of the works 🤪) but it’s the clear blue skies and the sun flooding the bedrooms this morning that make you think “it’ll be all worth it in the end”. 👌
