The gaffer has made some massive tactical calls for this Saturday’s World Cup themed market. With a massive 25 trader squad locked in for the weekend, competition for places was fierce!

We are lining up in a classic, no-nonsense 4-4-2 formation to kick off the campaign. Here is the Starting XI tasked with setting the pace this Saturday:

Delighted The Venison Kitchen and our lovely Venison is back in stock at Sillyflatts Farm Shop🥰

Collecting new batch of Pitscandly venison from near Forfar, and coming back over the Aberlemno to Brechin road, enveloped in scenes such as these. And my goodness, it's beautiful here. Spring colour, the reawakening of life, heavens opening, Scotland looking so fine!

Not just venison restock, I should add, but also a restock of 'The Venison Kitchen'. Recipes from a Venison farm kitchen, created by Pitscandly's very own lovely and talented Anona Gow. Full of tips and delicious ideas on how to get the best from this exceptional meat.

All available from tomorrow, open again 10, Tuesday to Saturdays 10 till 4.

Wow Wow Wow 🤩 what an inspiring group of young, budding cooks I had the pleasure of meeting at Aboyne Academy!
They’re part of the incredible Wild Cooks initiative spearheaded by Cllr Geva Blackett and Hal Salvesen from Findrack Estate which brings young people into the world of Venison, teaching them how to cook it for their families.
They’re part programme culminated in a fantastic competition and it was such an honour for me and my fellow judges and to taste and judge their creations.
Their talent, creativity and confidence on display was seriously impressive.
I was absolutely thrilled that they chose to cook one of my recipes, Farm Bolognaise from The Venison Kitchen cookbook for the final!
Huge congratulations to every single one of them….especially to the winners! 🤩🤩🤩

It is Easter Weekend at last and the gorgeous deer are happily roaming a hill on the farm - such a truly majestic sight.
Before long the Hinds will be calving and in just a few months we’ll start to see the new arrivals stepping out into the world with curious eyes and lots of exploring ahead 🥰
Easter really is one of the most special times of the year - it shows nature at its very best.

What a fantastic day spent with an inspiring group of young Reading Ambassadors at Brechin High School!

Their library is a true oasis of calm, and their librarian, Heather Stewart, is nothing short of inspirational 🙌

I had such a a brilliant time being interviewed about writing, farming, sustainability, reading - and of course, venison (including how to cook it!). The questions were thoughtful, curious, and full of energy - what a group!

Thank you so much for inviting me along - it was a real pleasure to be part of your day 🫶
