Your Final Wainwright?

I’m still a long way off completing, but Interested to know whether others have a plan for which one to end on.

Will you just leave it to chance and let it be whatever it turns out to be, or do you have a particular park in mind.

I imagine Great End would be a popular choice, and I know someone who wants to end on Yewbarrow because it’s the last one in the last Wainwright guide. What’s your plan?

Wasdale or Langdale?

We love them both for their incredible scenery and views and fabulous walking and hiking options.

Late evening rays across the top of the Langdale Pikes, with heather in the foreground.

The spot between Lingmoor summit and Side Pike offers so many great views for very limited effort. The Langdale Pikes, Great Wall of Lingmoor, Fat Man’s Agony, views to Blea Tarn and Wetherlam, Mickledon and the mountains beyond.

Treated myself to a quick run up to Side Pike tonight to see the heather. Probably my favourite place in all the World and despite only having about an hour of light it did not disappoint! Posting this from Old Dungeon Ghyll which might be my second favourite place Langdale

We love this wonderful little ferry and have used it many times when we have holidayed in Skye, and really hate the idea of losing it.

Please sign this petition if you can.

We want it to be there next time we visit.

This ten minute crossing is famous around the world - and is believed to be the last turntable style ferry anywhere. It's an iconic part of Skye's history, but it's under threat thanks to a wealthy landowner - Edinburgh-based retired corporate financier Richard Oliphant of that Ilk - forcing the com...
