A guest wrote this after her stay in May: 'The views out of the large glass wall never got tiring. It was lovely to see birds and wild rabbits every day, we were also lucky enough to be visited by a hare.' She booked a return visit before she'd even left.

There's a particular kind of quiet in this last long weekend of summer.

The light's turning gold a little earlier now. The evenings still stretch out on the decking, though, glass in hand, the Solway Firth doing what it does best.

A few dates are still open over the next month if you fancy joining us before autumn properly arrives.
