If you're looking for a walk that's a little different, one of my favourite local recommendations is the route from Silverdale to Arnside.
At around 8-9km, it's a beautiful coastal walk with stunning views, peaceful shoreline paths and plenty to discover along the way. One of the highlights for me is a hidden cove with sea caves that can be explored at low tide. It's one of those places that many visitors don't even know exists.
When you reach Arnside, take some time to explore the independent shops, stop for an ice cream or coffee, or enjoy lunch at one of the cafรฉs or pubs before making your way back. Supporting local businesses is a lovely way to experience the area while helping our local community thrive.
If you're feeling more adventurous, I'd also recommend extending your walk up Arnside Knott, where you'll be rewarded with incredible views across Morecambe Bay, the Lakeland Fells and the Kent Estuary.
It's a fantastic way to experience a quieter side of the area and one that I'd happily recommend to any of our guests. By sticking to marked paths, respecting wildlife and leaving no trace, we can all help keep this beautiful coastline just as special for future visitors.
