This week we celebrate 22 years at Tigh na Sgiath! Where have all the years gone!
We can remember the first day we arrived, our first visitor was a neighbour with a note pad and pencil, we were "interviewed". Satisfied that we were semi normal and not about to swell the area with coach parties, she went on her way to report back to the community.
It was not long before we started getting lots of enquiries for lunch, dinner and all sorts of meetings, the source being the said lady "Jane".

After 40 years in hospitality, we have never encountered such a rude and abusive person as this afternoon.

Terms and conditions are there for a reason!!

However on this occasion when a booking for August was cancelled we wiaved our T and C's in favour of this guest.
He was happy with the arrangement.

But apparently he's now not happy judging from his threatening phone call this afternoon, I am not easily threatened but he really knew what he was doing.

He seemed to know our reservations system better than us and could tell us our occupancy levels and our income!

Being shouted at down the phone and being called greedy people whilst making threats is not on, despite all of this, it was explained again to him that an exception had been made in his case, however he continued his tirade, then he put the phone down.

We are considering taking this further as this sort of behaviour should not go unchecked.

Sometimes you just cannot win!!! Thank goodness for all the lovely people we do encounter!!!

For Cairngorm Mountain locals, you can enjoy an even bigger discount and ride the Funicular for just £1 - this offer is open to those living in PH19 to PH26 postcodes. Simply pop into the Ticket Office with proof of address.

This special offer is available for funicular foot passengers tickets only from Monday 10 to Friday 28 November 2025 or until the start of the snowsports season, whichever comes first.
