For anyone travelling to and from Hemsby and Great Yarmouth this weekend.
🚧 Reminder - A47 Full Weekend Closure this weekend from 8pm Fri 29 May to 6am Mon 1 June 🚧
The A47 will be fully closed in both directions between Longwater Interchange and Dereham Interchange while we continue construction of our new dual carriageway on the A47 between North Tuddenham and Easton in Norfolk.
🔧 What we’re doing:
• We’ll be constructing the new Lyng Road junction and connecting it to a new local access road and the current A47.
• We’ll also be carrying out preparation work on the new route to Mattishall Lane, and junction and construction work linked to removing the Easton roundabout.
• A new road layout will be in place when the road reopens on 1 June (see diagram).
🛣️ Diversions Westbound: via A11 → A134 → A1065 → rejoin A47 at Swaffham Eastbound: via A1065 → A134 → A11 → rejoin A47 toward Norwich

🚫 Side roads: Side road access onto this stretch of the A47 will close from 7.30pm Fri 29 May over the weekend. Residents living directly on the A47 will be escorted through the road closure when needed. Emergency services will have access throughout.
⚠️ Abnormal load – Sun 31 May (9am–1pm) An abnormal load travelling from King’s Lynn to Necton will use part of the diversion between Swaffham and Necton on Sunday 31st. Please allow extra time for your journey.
