Tomorrow marks the start of Cornwall’s seasonal beach dog restrictions, with bans in place on all Blue Flag and Seaside Award beaches between 10am and 6pm until the end of September — including Porthminster Beach in St Ives.

This weekend also sees the return of the Porthminster Food Festival (15th–17th), and organisers have confirmed the following:

“Whilst a dog ban is in effect on Porthminster Beach, the landowner has kindly offered to make an allowance for responsible dog owners, but animals must be always kept on a lead with no exceptions.

The event can be very busy, and the environment is not suitable for dogs, so we do recommend that you leave your furry friends at home.”

So despite the seasonal restriction beginning tomorrow, dogs will still be permitted within the festival area under these conditions.

Please respect the rules, keep dogs on leads at all times, and be mindful that the beach and festival will be extremely busy throughout the weekend.

Beach Yoga is back….

From Saturday 23rd May our free beach yoga sessions will return for another season 🙌

Throughout the summer, classes will run on a regular basis on the bowl of sand behind the trailer, 9-10am. The class is open to all, including beginners, just make sure you bring:

- A mat or towel to practice on
- Some water
- Swim stuff (in case you fancy a dip afterwards - RNLI are are duty from 10am)

The cafe is open for coffee/cake and/or brekkie when we finish ☕️ 👌
