Tomorrow we’ll be opening our 2027 calendar, and this year we’re launching it alongside our brand new booking system, making it easier than ever to find your dates and book experience with us.

We are now fully booked for Farm Experiences for the remainder of 2026. A huge thank you to everyone who has visited, booked, purchased a voucher or recommended us your support genuinely means so much to our small family business.

Don’t worry! We have reserved a limited number of additional slots specifically for existing voucher holders. If the remaining availability doesn’t work for you, please get in touch at [email protected] we can look at extending your voucher into next year.

We also completely appreciate that getting booked in this year hasn’t always been as easy as we would have liked. We’ve listened to your feedback and we’re working hard behind the scenes to make things better.

There’s just something magical about Windmill Retreats at sunset 🌅✨

As the sun begins to dip, the farm becomes a little quieter, the sky turns golden and everything seems to slow down.

Whether you’re sitting outside with a drink, watching the Highland cows in the evening light or getting cosy in your retreat, these are the moments that make a stay in the countryside feel extra special. 🤍

Peace, fresh air and sunsets like this what more could you ask for? ✨

Due to the current hot and dry weather, outdoor BBQs and fire pits are temporarily not permitted at Windmill Retreats because of the increased risk of wildfires.

Don’t worry though all of our pods and geodomes are fully equipped with indoor cooking facilities, including a hob, so you’ll still have everything you need to cook during your stay.

We’ll continue to monitor the conditions and will let everyone know as soon as it’s safe to bring back outdoor BBQs and fire pits.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us protect our farm, animals and the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Windmill Retreats Update 🌾

Firstly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Windmill Retreats. We genuinely never imagined we’d receive the number of enquiries and bookings that we have, and we’re incredibly grateful to each and every one of you.

As many of you know, we’re a small family run business and a working farm with young children. Whilst we’re doing everything we can to keep up with demand, we simply don’t have the capacity to answer phone calls at the moment.

To help us respond as quickly as possible:

🎁 Have a gift voucher? Please email [email protected] with your preferred date (after checking availability on our website), your voucher code and the name the voucher was purchased under. A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

We’re also working hard behind the scenes to improve our booking system, update our website with more information and recruit additional team members to help us manage the growing demand.

Finally, we’d like to kindly remind everyone that there are real people behind Windmill Retreats. We had been searching for the perfect name for one of our newest Highland calves. She’s beautiful natured, full of character, and has just a little bit of sass about her.

A few weeks ago, we met Abi and Kirsty, who told us all about a very special little girl called Ellerie. The more we heard about her, the more we knew it was the perfect name for our calf.

At the time, Ellerie was very poorly, but she was determined to come and stay with us and meet her namesake. Sadly, on the day she just wasn’t well enough to make the journey, so we did the next best thing and took the calf to see her.

It was a very special moment for all of us. We saw her fighting spirit, her warmth, and just how much she was loved by everyone around her. Although we only knew Ellerie for a short time, she made an incredible impact on everyone she met.

Sadly, just a few days later, Ellerie gained her wings.

Today, our thoughts are with her mum, dad, family and friends as they navigate an unimaginable loss.

We gave our little Ellerie an extra cuddle today. We will continue to tell people about the beautiful little girl she was named after, and as she grows here on the farm, her name will remain a reminder of someone who brought so much love, courage and joy to those around her.

Sending all our love to Ellerie’s family. 💜🐮
