Overview...

Lazey Cottage is an eye-catching 2 bedroom dwelling set next to the River Lazey in the charming seaside village of Haverigg, Cumbria. Resting on the banks of the Haverigg Pool, overlooking the magnificent mouth of Duddon Estuary, this wonderful, self-catering cottage offers a fabulous base for a family of four who seek an escape to the Cumbrian Coast.

The Property...

The main floor offers a comfy, well equipped home from home, with an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area for the family to eat together. There’s plenty of comfy sofas and chairs for everyone to sit, relax, play games and socialise. The large French windows lead to an outdoor patio area with extensive incredible views of the tidal river, estuary and the sea. These views, as you'll see in the photos, are ever changing, from high to low water every 12 hours.

Make your way up to the first floor and discover a well-decorated main bedroom, with kingsize bed and boasting a beautiful balcony, where you can relax looking over the water and watch the world go by.
The twin bedroom, with attractive modern, blue and ochre floral bedding is perfect for two children or sharing adults alike.
The family bathroom has the advantage of a bath, for a relaxing dip and a rejuvenating overhead shower, along with a contemporary heated towel rail.

What to do in Haverigg...

Haverigg remains a favourite for people who love the simple things in life. The sandy blue flag beach, the river, and the Marina which is now an RSPB bird reserve and Hodbarrow Nature reserve. View the Hodbarrow Haverigg Lighthouse, built on the Hodbarrow Outer Barrier sea wall in the mid-20th century. See the imposing Giants Grave Standing Stones and Millom Castle.
Take daily walks and/or enjoy the splashing, running and swimming fun on the doorstep; a haven away from queues, parking issues and big crowds. Lazey cottage continues to attract, year after year, families, groups of friends and retiree couples. Dogs are also very welcome in Lazey cottage and on the dog friendly beach. (There’s a handy outside tap to help with a quick rinse off after all the activity) What's not to like!
The village of Haverigg hosts The Harbour Hotel pub which serves food, The Rising Sun pub for a game of pool, a local Rugby Union and cricket club, a wonderful fish and chip shop and a very popular cafe by the beach. The ski bar at the Marina, (5 mins walk from the cottage) also serves food and offers waterski and watersports facilities.
There is a lovely park, right next to the beach, with equipment for both young and older children. There is a homemade icecream café/shop on the campsite and also the Lakeland Icecream shack which is parked next to one of the beaches in the holiday season.
There is a well stocked convenience store, Post Office, cash point in the village and Millom is a town just over 1 mile away with a Tesco supermarket, many small local shops, fuel station, pharmacy, doctors surgery, dentist, a museum and cafes, restaurants and takeaways.

If you feel like a more strenuous walk locally, but don't fancy the busy Lakes, take a hike up Black Coombe, our very own 'nearly a mountain'. At Lazey cottage, you are just two miles from Whicham Church, where the footpath starts for this moderate climb.

Out and About for a day trip...

Explore the very best that Cumbria has to offer with days spent exploring the incredible landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Discover the enchanting landmarks of Swinside Stone Circle and the ruins of Ravenglass Roman Bath House or use Lazey Cottage as a base for exploring the coastal or mountainous areas, with its activities and views to suit all .Embark on challenging hikes up the peaks of Hater Fell, Scafell Pike and The Old Man of Coniston before descending to the traditional village of Coniston for a hearty meal at one of the many local cafes.
