Fancy a wander with purpose at the Herstmonceux Apple Pressing Day on 18th October?

Our Orcharders’ Trail treasure hunt will be running all day — drop in any time between 10–5pm and head off whenever you’re ready.

It works just as well for grown‑ups on a quiet ramble as it does for kids on a full‑tilt adventure.

It’s £5 per family, with every penny going to Cowbeech Bonfire Society, who raise funds for local charities.

Come for the apples… stay for the clues… and see if you can outsmart the orchard.

Do you have any apples you don't know what to do with?

If you've got any lurking in the garden, bring them and we'll squish them on 18th October at the Herstmonceux Apple Pressing Day.

We'll take the good, the ugly, and even the bad! We've a rotten-apple shy, where we turn windfalls to premium compost.

Please register your interest below, we'd like to get an understanding of what to cater for.

We’re on the hunt for c***r presses and scratters for our Apple Pressing Day on 18th October at Greenway Fruit Farm, Herstmonceux.

We've got a couple of each, but, as it's our first year, and haven't a clue how many people will turn up, we want to be prepared.

So if you've got either lurking in a shed, in that corner you pretend doesn’t exist, we’d love to borrow it. If you can lend anything, drop me a message. Your forgotten shed relics will become heroes of the day.

My brother and I have just over a month to recreate the old Merrydown c***r press for our apple pressing day in Herstmonceux.

The press is lot bigger than we thought, and we've never done anything like it before. It's an event to help local charities raise funds and awareness, so we hope you'll come and support us all.

Follow our progress and please come on the day.

Come and support your local orchard and the charities involved. As well as apple pressing (and the chance to bring your own or forage on the farm), there’ll be plenty of simple, hands‑on activities for all the family.

This is a not‑for‑profit community initiative, so please share, tell your friends, and — if you’re feeling brave — stand on the street corner and tell everyone who walks past. The first option is absolutely fine.
