Congratulations to you all!!!

Congratulations to you all!!!

50 Years of Tyddyn Isaf! 💚

In 1976, when we purchased Tyddyn Isaf, we were a family with the bare bones of a park, lots of ideas, and a lot of hope. Half a century later, we're still a family business, and the fields are full of your families and memories too!

We've watched children who once ran around here with buckets and fishing nets come back with children of their own. We've seen first holidays, silver weddings, reunions, and more rainy afternoons in the bar and coffee shop than we could ever count. We may look after Tyddyn, but you are the ones who fill it with life. ❤️

So it felt only right that our Golden Anniversary celebration on Saturday wasn't about us at all… it was about giving something back. And what a day it was! 🥰

We had live music from Arwyn Hughes and The Cover Ups, Highland cows getting more cuddles than they knew what to do with, face painting, games, a spectacular three-tier celebration cake, our Golden Challenge winners announced, and a crowd of you who turned up in full force despite the weather (which, thankfully, came good in the end!). 🐮🎶

Because of you, our wonderful customers, we raised an incredible....
£4,072 for RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat 😍

To the RNLI Moelfe Lifeboat volunteers, and the HM Coastguard team who gave up their Saturday to join us: thank you. You were the reason for the day, and you were the highlight of it.

A massive thank you to the local businesses who generously donated prizes and supported the event:
RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat
RNLI Moelfre Seawatch
Moelfre Coastguard
The Cover Ups
Robin Roberts
Nina's Cake Cabin
Butterfly's Floral Design
Two Bridges Wales
Tyddyn Môn
Huws Gray
Arwyn Hughes

Also a huge thank you to our brilliant volunteers, and every single person who bought a raffle ticket, ordered food, made a donation, or simply came along to celebrate with us.

Fifty years, and none of it would have been possible without you. Here's to many more years to come! 🥂✨

🌸 A lovely morning with Herefordshire Means Business for Women 🌸
What a fantastic morning at today’s Herefordshire Means Business Ltd for Women meeting!
We were treated to a really interesting and slightly different presentation from Michelle Ward of Indelible IP. Rather than focusing on trademarking and brand protection, Michelle shared her own journey, from studying Plant Sciences at university to becoming a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and Brand Protection Specialist.
It was fascinating to hear how her career has taken a direction she probably never imagined when she first started her degree. And it was a great reminder that life does not always follow the path we think it will. Sometimes opportunities, experiences and choices take us somewhere completely unexpected and that is OK. Ultimately, what matters is finding something you enjoy, that makes you happy and that you are passionate about.
There was also plenty of time for catching up, meeting some lovely new ladies and reconnecting with many of the longstanding members.
And, of course, we could not let Colita Dainton’s birthday pass without a little early celebration! We enjoyed some VERY chocolatey cake, ready for the big day next week and I can confirm it tasted every bit as good as it looked!
A huge thank you to Colita and Kim for organising another morning that was informative, inspiring and great fun.
It is always lovely to spend time with such a supportive group of women from across Herefordshire.

🎙️ THE BOG CAST – NEW EPISODE NOW LIVE!
What does the future of the washroom industry look like? And why is collaboration so important if we want to raise standards?
In this episode, Becky is joined by Paul Thrupp CMgr MCMI, FBICSc of the Independent Washroom Services Association (IWSA), to talk about the people, businesses and organisations working behind the scenes to make washrooms better for everyone.
They discuss:
🚽 The importance of independent washroom service companies
🤝 Why sharing knowledge and working together matters
👩‍💼 Attracting the next generation into the industry
🤖 AI, cobotics and the future of washroom services
♿ Safety, dignity and full inclusion
🏆 The new partnership between IWSA and Loo of The Year Awards Ltd
🎤 What’s coming at the Cleaning Show in 2027
Paul also shares why “the more we all work together, the greater the impact will be.”
It is a fascinating conversation about an industry that most people rarely think about; but which affects every one of us.

🚻 Meet the team behind the inspections! ⭐
These are the fantastic trained people who help us raise the standards of away-from-home washrooms across the UK and Ireland.
Our inspectors carry out unannounced inspections, assessing washrooms against our comprehensive 101-point criteria to recognise excellence and highlight where improvements can be made.
Because toilets really do matter!!!
Whether we are customers, visitors, guests, passengers or staff, the standard of the washroom can have a huge impact on our experience, our well being and our mental health.
And believe me… a lot can be said about a business or establishment by the standard of its toilets! e.g. How many times have you people say I will not eat there as the toilets are horrible!
Behind every inspection is a dedicated inspector who is passionate about improving standards and making sure that clean, safe, accessible, inclusive hygiene and welcoming washrooms are valued as an important part of any business or establishment.
We are incredibly proud of our inspection team and the important work they do.
Because everyone deserves a better toilet.

How do you recognise a Loo of the Year Awards inspected and graded washroom?
You may have seen our stickers and certificates displayed in washrooms across the UK and Ireland; but do you know what they actually mean?
When you see a Loo of the Year Awards sticker, certificate or plaque, it means that washroom has been independently inspected and graded against our comprehensive 101-point criteria.
And importantly, ALL of our inspections are unannounced.
There is no opportunity to prepare the washroom specially for our visit. Our inspectors see the facilities as they are being used by the public, visitors and staff, giving a genuine reflection of the standards being maintained.
⭐ So, what do the grades mean?
🥉 Bronze – Below Standard
🥈 Silver – ⭐ 1 Star
🥇 Gold – ⭐⭐ 2 Stars
🏆 Platinum – ⭐⭐⭐ 3 Stars
🏆 Platinum Plus – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars
💎 Diamond – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars
Our criteria cover Ladies, Gents, Accessible, Baby Change and Changing Places facilities and are available for everyone to see on our website.
And this is not simply a visual tick-box exercise.
Our 101 criteria are based on relevant Building Regulations, British Standards and disability requirements, meaning our inspectors carry out measurements, visual assessments and physical checks as part of the inspection.
Every Loo of the Year Awards inspector is fully trained, with the inspection team also undertaking a quality control day before each year's inspections to ensure consistency in the way our criteria are applied.
If you see one of our inspectors out and about… say hello!
They would be delighted to talk to you, answer your questions, show you what they are looking for during an inspection and share their experience.
We want people to understand what goes into achieving a Loo of the Year Awards grade; because these are not simply awards.
Each grade is a recognition of best practice in the care, cleanliness, presentation, accessibility and overall standard of away-from-home washrooms.
We have been doing this for 39 years, and we believe toilets have never been more important.
Because a great washroom is not a luxury, it is an essential part of making people feel welcome, respected, safe, to have dignity and to be included. 💙
So next time you are out and about, look for the certificate and or sticker.

And that is another day of London Loo of the Year Awards inspections done!
Yesterday was another HUGE day on the feet, 25,000 steps and 18km walked! 👣🚶‍♂️

We have been out and about across London, inspecting, assessing and judging even more facilities as part of this year’s Loo of the Year Awards.

And it is not just the inspections that make these days so enjoyable. We have had some fantastic conversations with people along the way, including chatting to fellow travellers on the Tube about what we do and why these awards matter.

There is so much more to a great away-from-home toilet than most people realise, and it is brilliant to meet people who genuinely care about providing clean, well-maintained and welcoming facilities for everyone.

After a very busy few days in London, we are now heading back to Herefordshire for a few days to recover those tired feet!

But don’t worry… we will be back

Look out for our fantastic team of inspectors who are working right across the UK and Ireland, helping to recognise the very best facilities and, importantly, helping to raise standards of away-from-home toilets for us all.

So keep your eyes peeled… 👀

You never know when you might spot one of our inspectors out and about, checking the loos!

73,000 steps. 54.5Km. Countless loos. Lots of conversations. And a very important mission, making away-from-home toilets better for everyone. 🚽👏
