š§ HANDYMAN WANTED ā FLEXIBLE HOURS
Weāre looking for a reliable handyman to join the Hexham Holiday Homes team after Rod, our current handyman, has decided itās time to start enjoying his retirement!
The role involves helping us maintain our 14 holiday rentals across the Tyne Valley, carrying out general maintenance and repairs as and when required.
Most jobs are fairly basic day-to-day maintenance, and we certainly donāt expect you to be able to do everything. If a job requires a qualified tradesperson or is outside your comfort zone, weāre more than happy to bring the appropriate trade in.
Who would this suit?
Ideally, weāre looking for someone who is semi-retired or retired and would like to earn some extra money while keeping busy.
The hours are very flexible and sporadic. Some weeks there may be a few days of work available, while other weeks there may be very little or no work, so there are no guaranteed weekly hours.
Rod isnāt in a rush to fully retire and will remain involved during the handover. Heāll show the successful person around all of our properties, explain how everything works and pass on his knowledge to make the transition as smooth as possible.
The position could either be on an employed basis, in which case you would be covered by our insurance, or on a self-employed basis, provided you have the appropriate insurance in place.
š Requirements
ā¢ Full UK driving licence
ā¢ Own vehicle for getting between properties
ā¢ Reliable and able to respond to maintenance jobs when available
ā¢ Comfortable carrying out general household maintenance and basic repairs
On particularly busy days, or when materials/tools need transporting, use of a van can be arranged.
This is a relaxed, flexible role that could be ideal for someone with good practical skills who isnāt looking for a full-time commitment but would enjoy keeping busy and earning some additional income.
