🏳️‍🌈 The rainbow flag was designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978 — each colour carries a meaning. Red for life. Orange for healing. Yellow for sunlight. Green for nature. Blue for harmony. Violet for spirit.

🧠 Until 1990, the World Health Organisation officially listed homosexuality as a mental illness. That classification was removed on 17 May 1990 — now celebrated as International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHOT).

🎖️ LGBTQ+ people were banned from serving in the British military until the year 2000. Stonewall UK campaigned to end this — and won.

Every rainbow flag, every march, every cheer this June carries the weight of that history. 💜
