🍂 What’s on this October in the Lake District 🎃

🎶 Kendal Music Festival (3rd and 4th) - The town comes alive with local bands and artists, a brilliant weekend of live music across Kendal’s venues.

🏺 Potfest in the Pens, Penrith (17th to 19th) - Discover unique ceramics and pottery from over 100 makers, perfect for picking up something special (or just admiring the craft).

🕯️ Winter Droving, Penrith (25th) - A lantern-lit parade through town with masked performers, fire breathers, live music and street food. Celebrating tradition and community spirit each autumn.

🏰 Halloween at Muncaster Castle (25th to 2nd Nov) - The castle transforms for half term with haunted mazes, pumpkin patches, costume parades, and spooky entertainment for the whole family.

🔭 Cumbria Dark Skies Festival (24th to 21st Nov) - The National Parks Dark Skies Festivals celebrate the UK’s darkest skies with autumn and winter events across multiple parks, offering stargazing, night-time activities, workshops, and family-friendly experiences for all levels of interest in astronomy and nocturnal wildlife.

🎃 Brockhole Halloween Experience (25th to 31st) - A family favourite! Explore the haunted forest, try axe-throwing and laser tag, meet spooky creatures, and listen to tales from the Witch's Cauldron.

🚂 Oct Half Term – Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway (25th to 2nd Nov) - Halloween Half Term brings spooky fun for all ages, with themed activities, ghoulish decorations, interactive exhibits at Ravenglass Railway Museum, and the seasonal treat of double-header steam trains through Eskdale.

🎶 South Lakes Live (2–4 May)
A micro-festival in Kirkby Lonsdale. Expect great tunes, a chilled atmosphere, and a real community vibe - perfect for a spring weekend escape.

🚲 Kendal Cycling Festival (2-4 May)
Don’t miss this great event at The Venue. The weekend is a family-friendly festival including Rides with GIANT, live music and delicious food & drinks.

⛰️ Keswick Mountain Festival (16–18 May)
A celebration of outdoor adventure in the heart of the Lakes. Take part in trail runs, open-water swims, and cycling events, then wind down with live music and fun for the whole family.
