Moreton Day Service - Oakenholt Road, Wirral Oakenholt is a small day centre providing day care and community links to adults with special needs.

The people who attend Oakenholt are supported by the Parents & Friends of Moreton Day Service (Oakenholt), Registered Charity 1071741. Our day centre offers planning, support and assistance to vulnerable adults with learning difficulties.

💙 Learning Disability Week 2026 💙

This year’s theme, “Do You See Me?”, reminds us that people with learning disabilities deserve to be seen, heard, respected, and included.

Let’s challenge barriers, champion accessibility, and celebrate the strengths and contributions of people with learning disabilities.

👀 Do we really see people?
👂 Do we listen to their experiences?
🤝 Do we create spaces where everyone belongs?

This , let’s turn awareness into action and make inclusion a reality for all. 💙

At 10.00 am this Friday (12th) 🗓️ we are having another fundraising coffee morning, all are welcome.

The Charity continues to fund activities, recent purchases are two boxes of art & craft 🖼️ materials, and we have laid out over £80 for fares to enable the centre users to go out - while our minibus 🚌 sits there due to ongoing industrial action 🙈

The last I heard WBC and ACAS were attempting to resolve the issues.

There is also a 'Showcase' event to be held at the Floral tomorrow (11th). This is an opportunity to see what the day centres and other sites have to offer while we await the decision regarding the transformation of day centres. 👀

A big thank you for the wonderful £100 donation of new arts and crafts materials for Oakenholt Day Centre! 🎨

The colouring pens, activity books, craft kits and puzzles will give our members lots of creative activities to enjoy.

Your kindness and support are greatly appreciated and will make a real difference to the people who attend the centre. 💛

Due to a week of industrial action the day centres will be closed from Monday 2 March. This means our re-arranged meeting is cancelled, the next meeting will be a week later on Monday 9 March.
