linktr.ee/FurtherEast2024 CEO and Founder of This is Beyond, Serge Dive – creator of PURE Life Experiences, LE Miami and We Are Africa – launched the industry’s first travel trade marketplace dedicated to inbound Asian high-end travel titled ‘Further East’ in 2018. Yet despite its vast array of cultures and landscapes, its breadth of histori

cal context and its billions of habitants, there’s a special harmony that connects the continent; a shared charm grounded in warmth and ritual – chaotic yet deliberate, genuine yet mystical.

“For years the conversation in luxury travel has been about outbound high-net-worth Asian travellers. Meanwhile, the mystical allure of this incredible continent and the increasing desire among high-net-worth consumers – both Asian and from across the globe – to travel to and around Asia has been too long ignored”, says Dive. Complementing This is Beyond’s portfolio of exclusive, niche-luxury travel trade marketplaces, Further East is an invitation-only, one-stop-shop for travel tastemakers, including specialist corporate and leisure buyers and international travel press, to discover a highly curated cross-section of Asian high-end travel product ranging from the bold and contemporary, to the traditional and awe-inspiring, to the wondrous and remote – all the way from Oman to Japan, India to Indonesia. In 2021 Further East expanded to include the entire APAC region, showcasing an even broader range of high-end travel product. The next edition of Further East will take place 7-10 November 2022 in Seminyak, Bali.

FE’s Guide to: New Zealand 🇳🇿

“She’ll be right.”👌 It’s a classic Kiwi saying – an expression of quiet optimism that everything will work out in the end.

We love New Zealand’s humility and embrace of life. But you can still find luxury here, as well as revelations that befit such a remote corner of the world…

This is the only place that grows the silver fern – a plant used by Māori tribes to find pathways at night. It glimmers with reflections of the moon 🌙 🌿 You’ll spot these ferns on signs, jewellery and banknotes around the country.

Travel is woven into New Zealand’s identity. In te reo Māori, Tāpoi means ‘to travel’ – an apt name for one of our Circle members, 🫶 Much like the silver ferns, their bespoke journeys go beyond the expected, bringing travellers closer to Aotearoa’s landscapes, traditions and warm hospitality through experiences designed with genuine local insight.

Quite poetically, New Zealand is also the first place to see the sunrise. Many of the best views are on the northern coastline. Take your pick of properties from who have ultra-exclusive villas in Te Arai and the Bay of Islands 🌅

Local seafood is tremendous, by the way. Delicacies like the greenlip mussel and bluff oyster snare millions of food travellers, some of whom stay forever. presents rooms by the water in one of the most diverse cities on earth – where around one in a quarter full-time residents were born abroad. Head to the Hyatt’s specialist restaurant, Onemata, for a taste of the dock and the ocean ⛵️

On the nation’s Southern Island, the terrain becomes much more spiky and rugged – heaven for hikers. Sheep stations are an iconic sight in the hills. They were built for mass shearing and teams of dogs to herd thousands of ewes 🐑 Our ‘26 Further Easter is set in a converted sheep ranch, unlocking luxury chalets and a grand alpine lodge beside Lake Wakatipu 🏞️

If this is the calibre of what one destination looks like, imagine the rest. Meet APAC’s most exceptional travel brands at Further East 2026. Ready to join them? Apply now.

What excites you about Further East?

“Honestly, Further East is the show I look forward to the most all year. It’s small and intimate, and that’s exactly what makes it special — you end up building real connections with people in the industry instead of just quick hellos or cold meetings.

Mix that with the Balinese vibe and it becomes a truly unique environment to do business in. It’s the kind of thing that pushes us to keep developing and promoting tourism across Asia and the Pacific.”

🇧🇷 Danilo Rondinelli (cont.)

What are you looking for from our exhibitors?

“First, I want exhibitors to really be present and show us the best of their country, their product, their service. The ones who support us well are the ones who help us stay ahead of the market and ready to surprise our clients. So keep us in the loop, show us the trends and what’s coming next, and when we need it, help us curate the best possible experiences for our clients.”

What excites you about Further East?

“Further East has its own style! It has a really elevated feel, with poolside chats woven right in. Less ‘appointments’, more ‘conversations’. Relaxed, intimate, real — and that’s exactly where the best connections happen.

I also love the mix of exhibitors. Established luxury brands sit alongside boutique properties and exciting new ope

FE’s Guide to: Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

‘Hidden gem’ has become such a travel cliche. So it’s refreshing to dig into a place that really earns the phrase. Sri Lanka is a powerhouse of gemstone production 💎 More than 70 of the world’s finest stones can be found here, still largely governed by ethical, small-scale mining.

And when the landscape is this beautiful, we can’t stop searching for other treasures...

Did you know that Sri Lankan has the densest concentration of waterfalls on the planet? There’s one every 170 sq km. Travellers often seek the tallest falls in districts such as Koslanda, Badulla and Nuwara Eliya, but you’ll run across several on a trek through the Central Highlands.

Nature serves your tastebuds, too 😋 Sri Lankan cinnamon is the most aromatic and delicious of any light spice. Called ‘true’ or ‘Ceylon’ cinnamon, it’s layered, flaky, and functions as an antioxidant. Try it in a traditional village fish curry with cooking classes run by 🥘

Rubber is another massive Sri Lankan export. Plantations here make the rare crepe rubber latex for shoes, surgical supplies and book binding. Its harvest inspired some of the most distinctive colonial architecture of the 20th century. We recommend a stay at , a 100-year-old bungalow on a rubber and tea plantation.

The rarities keep coming in Sri Lanka. You can tour the estate of Geoffrey Bawa — who revolutionised Asian design with clay, stone, timber and Tropical Modernism — with 🛠️ Or seek out one of only three Teeth of The Buddha. Exhibited in the city of Kandy, it was allegedly saved from the great man’s funeral pyre 🙏🦷

There’s much to discover on longer paths as well, like the Pekoe Trail: a 323-km hike across 22 stages of hill towns, forests and history. Looking for a stop-off? Cool those feet in an infinity pool at 🏊

Bookmark this post and unearth Sri Lanka’s greatest adventures at FE this year 📌 ⛏️ All the brands we’ve mentioned will joining us in Bali in November! 🌴
