🌳🌳🌳Breathe, Balance, Bloom - Summer Solstice 9th Ray Mini Retreat glamping

I’m so happy to invite you to a special mini retreat on June 21st at 3 Trees Glamping. This will be a very grounded, peaceful time for us to come together and connect with Mother Gaia. We’ll be doing some beautiful, simple rituals to soak up that positive sun energy and give ourselves a much-needed "energy upgrade."

As we step into the summer solstice, we’ll connect to the energy of the earth, the warmth of the sun, and the love that flows all around us. We’ll move gently through practices like Qi Gong, Summer Solstice & cacao rituals, breathwork, and meditation infused with Angelic Reiki. We are also planning a very special workshop—all to help us feel grounded, open, and full of light.

More details will follow, but I would love for you to be part of this beautiful gathering. Let’s welcome summer together, in balance, in peace, and in joy. I’d love to see you there. Limited spaces available.☯️🧘‍♀️☯️

❤️Days like these ❤️ This is us, this is what we do when we have a bit of time off, family time, like Sundays. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the clouds were scooting across that very blue sky, and the Alpacas were looking at us in that way, as if to say, " Hey, why don't we go for a walk to the waterfall" so we did.

This is our little herd of very special Alpacas, who chose us, they came to live with us here, at 3Trees Glamping in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, edging the Quirky town of Wirksworth in Jily 2024. They are amazingly funny, characterful and a special part of our life & Glampsite. They love to meet our guests and even more so when guests help us a feeding time.

Life is precious, we know that! We all need to take time to enjoy it with our families, to spend time outdoors in nature, connect, laugh, love, and just be.

I wanted to share this magical place with you ✨️ This Bluebell Wood, stream and lake have been here for a long time but we only became custodians of them in 2023. Since then it has been our "Passion Project" and our place to retreat to in our spare time.

It is just the other side of the hedge from 3treesglamping, our lovingly created Glampsite haven in the Derbyshire Dales

We have all worked hard, Sheila has put in so much time & graft, Woody, Izzie and I have been hands on too alongside our friends Matt (our trusty digger man), Andy and Hunter (our fencers) to tidy it up, make safe, stabilise, improve habitat, plant and enhance the beauty that already exists

🚀Space rockets from Millers Green!

The unlikely connection between us and space travel, how digging up Shale in the garden ended up on space rockets..............

It's been a while (last post in the family history was June 2024) sorry 🙏 but things here got busy on the Glampsite, still are, but I have been asked to continue telling my family stories of our life here at Chequers Farm / 3Trees Glamping.

What better time to tell the story of our space rocket connection what with us all being transported to the Moon through the media tales of the Artemis II mission over the last few weeks.

In the 80's / 90's Dad was digging (as he did) with his big mechanical diggers ( garden landscaping on an industrial level! ) he found that under the layers of soil there was Shale.🚜

What is Shale? "Shale is a fine-grained, sedimentary rock composed of compacted clay minerals found at the bottom of ancient deep-seabeds.

Dad proudly had these bags of uninteresting, dried out looking, slatey soil sat in the house on the windowsill. Not your usual house decoration.

He mentioned it to a very knowledgeable local, analyst/ chemist, known to all as Flash. Flash had connections in that sort of stuff. He took the bags
away for analysis, returning a few weeks later with good news, it was "high grade" Shale. Dad was very pleased indeed. More was dug and sent off.

It transpired that this Millers Green Shale was very, very good, Flash said that it could withstand high temperatures and be made into brake linings for cars.

A little while later Flash told us even better news, this batch had gone into the process of making
the heat shield tiles for space rockets!

Wow, to think that a very un-inspiring looking mineral from underground Derbyshire, which had once been at the bottom of the seabed had ended up
going into space! 🚀What a mind-blowing thought.

Cosy up, settle down, watch the daylight fade, listen to the birds, gaze at the stars, sit around the firepit, roast marshmallows, share stories and make new memories 🩷

That is what life is really about ☺️
