Gone Away

Gone Away Set on the historic Roman road of Watling Street, Stony Stratford has a rich history. These pubs can be visited in the bustling High Street.

The origins of the Cock & Bull story started with outlandish stories told by travellers and highwaymen at the old coaching inns, The Cock and The Bull. The town retains its old world charm with a wide variety of independent shops and cafes. Our one bedroom detached cottage is very quiet. Enter through the gate on Silver Street and you will see The Counting House straight ahead, situated in a priva

te spot away from the road and to the rear of the other houses on Silver Street and Horse Fair Green. You enter the door at the back of the cottage into the kitchen which is equipped with everything you need for self catering; including oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and washing machine for your use. Just beyond the kitchen you will find a dining area with breakfast bar and stools under the window so you can eat whilst looking out to the garden. A narrow wooden staircase leads up to the bedroom and bathroom above. The bathroom has a shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin with towels and a selection of toiletries provided. In the bedroom you will find a small double bed, bedside table and lamp, mirror, storage shelves and a hanging rail for your convenience. Downstairs in the cosy living room there is a sofa, a log burner for the cold winter evenings and a selection of books and a wall-mounted TV. There is superfibre broadband provided by NowTV throughout the property. Under the stairs you will find an iron and table top ironing board, a wash basket and pegs and a vacuum cleaner if required during your stay. The Counting House is a real home from home which I am sure you will find a relaxing and enjoyable environment in which to stay. We hope you will want to return again and again. Other things to note:

Inside the property is non-smoking but you are welcome to smoke in the communal garden area outside, where you will find a garden table and 2 chairs for guest use. There is free on street parking in Silver Street and most of the environs of Stony Stratford however the parking on Horse Fair Green requires a resident permit, so please do not park there where signs are displayed. The nearest supermarket is Budgens in Cofferidge Close which is 2 minutes away on foot and opens from 7.00am-9.00pm every day except Sunday which is 10.00am-6.00pm.
