Five years ago today - we collected the keys to Severnside Press.

Since then, a former printing works has become our home, and a place where we have had the pleasure welcoming guests from across the UK & beyond.

Along the way, we’ve discovered a village we love, met remarkable people and become part of a community that continues to surprise us.

Thank YOU everyone who stayed with us & supported us over the past five years. ❤️

There is something rather appealing about a Sunday night away.

Arrive early, take a walk beside the River Severn, spend an afternoon exploring the Forest of Dean, or simply settle into a quieter pace for a day.

A leisurely Sunday lunch Post., followed by an evening in the village and a peaceful night’s sleep at Severnside Press, makes for a rather good way to end the weekend.

If you’re looking for inspiration, we’ve recently shared one of our favourite collections of dog-friendly walks in the Forest of Dean on the journal — equally enjoyable with or without a four-legged companion.

A small number of Sunday stays remain available this summer:

28 June
5 July
12 July
19 July
26 July

For those who prefer to begin the week feeling refreshed rather than hurried.

Details, booking and the journal via the link in our profile.

An ordinary morning in Newnham-on-Severn.

One of the things we appreciate most about village life is that not every moment needs an occasion.

Sometimes a quiet corner, a few minutes in the garden and the sound of summer are enough.

Happy weekend 💚

Newnham-on-Severn has a habit of slowing things down.

Mornings begin with coffee, birdsongs and some fresh air.

The day unfolds through woodland paths, independent shops

It is one of the reasons so many of our guests arrive for a night and wish they had stayed longer.

For those considering an impromptu summer escape, we have a small number of one-night stays remaining on

A small number in the grand scheme of things but one that means a great deal to us.

When we opened Severnside Press, our hope was simple: to create the sort of place we would want to stay ourselves:

thoughtful rooms

good breakfasts

and a chance to properly slow down for a few days

Thank you to every guest, who has stayed with us and taken the time to leave a review.

We read every one.

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for Simple Supper this weekend.

What began as a simple idea - bringing guests, neighbours and visitors together around the same table - continues to be one of our favourite evenings of the month.

Our next Simple Supper will take place on Saturday 4th of July, 7pm, £30 per head.

With Independence Day falling that weekend, the menu will take inspiration from a few American classics, interpreted in our own way, thanks to

Places are limited.

Happy Sunday

Some places reward a longer stay.

The Forest of Dean is one of them.

A two or three-night break allows time to experience the area properly: mornings in Newnham-on-Severn, walks through ancient woodland, afternoons exploring the Wye Valley, and evenings spent lingering over dinner rather than watching the clock.

Summer is perhaps the best season to visit. The river is at its most inviting, village life spills outdoors, and the forest offers welcome shade on warmer days.

If you’re considering a stay, our journal includes a guide to some of the best things to do in the Forest of Dean, from riverside walks and historic viewpoints to villages, gardens and places worth seeking out.

At Severnside Press, we encourage guests to stay a little longer. Not to see more, but to see things more slowly.
