After a crisp autumn day, there’s nothing quite like coming home to a cosy meal waiting for you in the slow cooker.

The delicious aroma filling the kitchen. The kind of meal that afterwards makes you want to cosy up by the wood burner, snuggle under a blanket and have no where else to be.

Where is ‘The Welsh Lake District?’ you may wonder.

The Welsh Lake District is an area of hidden gems of southern Snowdonia, revealing wonders of spectacular mountain scenery, untouched landscapes and rich wildlife and nature that call these lakes their home.

It is nicknamed ‘The Welsh Lake District’ for its combination of water and wild nature, its quieter and tranquil ambience; making it an alternative to the English Lakes.

Our 5 ⭐shepherd huts at Wild Valley Huts are in the heart of ‘The Welsh Lake District’ only 30mins to Lake Vyrnwy, Lake Bala and 10mins to the famous Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall.

😂 Guests have a warm, welcoming fresh loaf on arrival. While here, they can also buy fresh, warmed croissants, pain au chocolate and local breakfast packs for a relaxing morning. We deliver everything to the doorstep allowing guests to maximise relaxing.

The bread is the ⭐ of the show!

Today we had an order and a delivery we couldn’t quite fulfil- sorry! An online order for a loaf of fresh bread came from Brighton!

We refunded them the money and had a chuckle; thinking has word about our fresh bread travelled that far!

We’re glad it’s popular and well received but that delivery isn’t just round the corner from Mid Wales. 😂

For the amazing bread experience you’re going to just have to wake up in Cuckoo Hut, Red Kite Hut or the Cabin where you’re guaranteed a warm, fresh loaf or warm pastry 🥐 delivery without stepping a foot outside .

Your dog deserves a change of scenery too. Imagine different sniffs for them on their walks, new places to explore and plenty of cosy spots for them to curl up and relax.

Dogs love the home-from-home feeling and we have that here for them at Wild Valley Huts- a peaceful rural location, surrounded by countryside and away from the noise and business of everyday life. It’s quiet, giving them the chance to switch off and relax.

If your dog is a little anxious or easily overwhelmed, our peaceful setting is ideal. There’s space for them to relax at their own pace, without the hustle and bustle that can sometimes leave them ‘on guard.’

We’ve thought about little additions that make a stay special for four legged guests too. Each hut has a comfy dog mattress and Delphi dog socks included while outside you’ll find our dog toy library and a dog area where they can have a good run around and enjoy some off-lead fun. Both huts have a private decked area which is secure and gated too.

We often hear from guests that their dogs settle in quickly- and once their dogs are relaxed, their owners find it much easier to unwind into their break too!

It’s here! This month we’re celebrating 5 amazing years of welcoming guests to our little corner of the countryside!

Our shepherd huts have been a cosy home-from-home for couples and solo travellers looking to escape the hustle and bustle, breathe in the fresh country air, explore the great outdoors and simply slow down for a while.

From peaceful mornings surrounded by nature to country walks, starry skies and cosy evenings, it’s been our pleasure to share this special place with so many lovely people.

We’re so grateful to every guest who has stayed, returned, recommended us and supported our little business over the past 5 years.

We’ve been working hard to conserve water and make every drop count.

When we change over our huts, we reuse the hot tub water to fill our rainwater tanks, rather than letting it go to waste.

So for some guests, the water used for a lovely relaxing soak in the hot tub can go on to be reused and flush another guest’s toilet! A simple way we’ve found to conserve water where we can.

Our rainwater tanks have made a noticeable difference to our water storage and we’re so pleased with how much they’ve helped us to reduce our water use.

We had a cheeky surprise when we went to do our daily check of the water tank… only to find this little lady helping herself to a drink from the new spring we’ve discovered! 🐑

Clearly, word has got out about the new watering hole and she wasn’t holding back.

It was a lovely moment of relief 😊

From September we’ll be celebrating 5 years since we opened! Five years of amazing memories, hard work, laughter, challenges and so many incredible people who have walked through our doors.

Five years since the early days. From choosing names and paint colours for the huts to sheep escaping into our garden and wondering who they belonged to as we’d not met the neighbours yet.

Designing the inside of the shepherd huts to create a space that was warm and welcoming and where guests could truly relax, switch off and feel at home from the moment they stepped inside.

For five years, our little shepherd huts have been a place where guests can leave the hustle and bustle behind and enjoy the simple pleasures of country life. When we moved here, we thought the views were too good to keep to ourselves so we wanted to share them with others hence the shepherd huts. Offering guests a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy a relaxing escape.

As a small business, we take pride in providing a warm, personal experience for every guest. Over the past 5 years, we’ve had the pleasure of helping create lasting memories. We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who has stayed with us, shared kind words, returned time and again and recommended us to friends and family.
