Congratulations Oli Johnson!

You are the winner of the gourmet hamper worth £45 for being the name chosen at random out of everyone who has left a review about their stay with us in the last 3 mths. Oli’s review:

“We stayed for three nights at the beautiful red kite shepherds hut. The location is absolutely stunning… so secluded and peaceful, and from the moment we arrived the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

The wood fired hot tub is so relaxing and the little hut is warm and cosy to relax with a wood burning stove and Netflix etc

Thank you for an amazing stay!!!”

Thank you to all our fabulous guests for the reviews they leave us on Google Review - Wild Valley Huts Google Reviews. Have a look and see what previous guests think about their stay with us. You may fancy a post shepherd hut getaway too!

The thoughtful comments are lovely to read and any suggestions made to us we always take on board. The last suggestion was regarding the lighting for reading in Red Kite Hut and a repeat guest messaged us during their stay to say they were fans of the new reading lamps!

Your reviews are incredibly helpful - thank you for sharing them!

This week we’re over the moon to be welcoming back two previous bookings both staying this week! One previous booking was last year and the second repeat booking stayed in February this year!

There’s a quiet kind of value in returning to the same place. Choosing to come back, you’re trading new and novelty for something deeper and more restorative. Wild Valley Huts shepherd huts may become your special place you return to. You may find these benefits:

*A sense of familiarity allowing you to relax sooner.
*The unknown is gone, returning feels reliable. A bolt-hole feeling lives here.
*The place is special. It holds memories. *Coming back you can feel like you’re revisiting a personal retreat rather than just booking accommodation again.
*When some trips can be a miss and not what you expect, predictability becomes a luxury.

Our repeat guests are valued, not just accommodated. Small touches, recognition to consistent ways; reinforcing their perfect stay!

We’re a place that feels better the second time, third time, fourth time or for even the fifth time.

Our guest’s fabulous four legged friend, Roam, loved waking up in the Cuckoo Hut Shepherd Hut during his stay.

Waking to sunrises. Space. Sanctuary - loved by both Roam and his owner.

A calm, peaceful and relaxing start to their day with no noise and distractions just the sound of the stream and nature that calls the valley home.

Start your morning where you can truly relax and unwind, knowing your dog is too
Close to Llangollen, Bala and Oswestry.

“Staying in Cuckoo Hut has genuinely been one of the most peaceful and refreshing experiences I’ve had in a long time.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a hidden retreat just surrounded by nature.

Waking up to the sounds of birds and the quiet valley was something we don’t get everyday so we could properly switch off, slow down and recharge.

The setting is stunning with plenty of space to relax, explore or sit and take it all in. The overall atmosphere was ideal to escape the noise of daily life.”

“You’re a hidden gem!” our Wednesday morning feedback from our guest.

Our hidden gem stay is a place that feels almost undiscovered as if we were never meant to be found. Yet stumbling upon us is like uncovering a piece of treasure - unexpected, rare and quietly special.

We’re close to the famous path to Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall yet tucked just far enough away that we keep our quiet charm.

Sitting down a narrow lane, behind an unassuming gate, perched above a river with hill top views, tranquil setting wins you over through its calm, its privacy and the sense that, for a little while, you’ve stepped into a place that belongs only to you.

For calm, privacy and a sense you’re in a place just for you have a look at Wild Valley Huts.

Behind the Scenes- Storing Wood for our Guests

The benefits of lots of front crawl swimming as a child have come in useful for piling up our guest’s log store.

Arm Action - Four main stages:
Entry: Hand enters the wheel barrow fingertips first, in line with the shoulder.
Catch: The arm extends forwards and the forearm angles to catch the log.
Pull/Push: A powerful, continuous pull through the air bringing the hand to the hip.
Recovery: The log leaves the hand with a high elbow bringing it forward again.

Who’d have thought that the front crawl swimming technique would make storing logs so efficient 😂

When you’re wanting an evening sat by the chiminea or extra logs for your wood fired hot tub, we have them ready to go!
