Almost full moon behind St Mary’s this Maudy Thursday. Prelude the the Easter weekend which is set to be gorgeous, sunny, clear skied and full mooned. .wayside is right next to the churchyard of@St. Mary’s,famous for its 99 Yew trees and Victorian table top graves. There are lots of secret treasures for the keen eyed wanderer. If you are visiting Painswick this weekend, a walk around the churchyard is a must!

is a 5 mile walk around the Slad valley, home of writer and poet Laurie Lee. Winding through woodlands, open fields, over ancient styles and along the banks of a stream, this is a stunning walk. Along the way you can find poems etched into glass and bound by oak posts. As you read the poem you can simultaneously look through the glass at the landscape which inspired it. Such a wonderful way to spend the day, perhaps finishing off for well earned refreshments , where Lee was himself a regular. All this just a stones through from .wayside
