The rocks are on the move…which of course is totally natural. Please just take note of the signs and stay well clear and you’ll be safe.

Porthtowan pre Whispering Waves, back in the 1950s! No car park, the dunes came up to what is now Sandy Road, when no one tried to “manage” them. The ocean brought them in and took them out, looking after them naturally.
Just behind the mineshaft to the left is the caravan my Mum’s Nan used to rent for the summer, where my mum spent many years. She passed on her knowledge of the beach to me, and me to my children, and 30 years ago she invested in the properties we now call Cornwall Coastal Holidays. Generations of us enjoying all Porthtowan has to offer. So glad we get to share it with you too 🥰
