Hurkle Durkle Hut is in North Northumberland, 10 minutes north of Alnwick and 10 minutes to the AONB coastline. We're not far from the A1 meaning we are perfectly situated to explore this fiiiiine area.

The cabin is nestled in the woods behind the bunkhouse we also run here in Preston, Northumberland. It is private and secluded, you have a private hot tub and don't share the woods with anyone else. Dogs are welcome, it sleeps 2 people.

We're full until October this year buuuuut next year is open and we recommend booking because they are starting to trickle in already!

Wow! What a weekend!! It truly makes us so happy reading all of your comments in the guest book... and to know we are part of someone's forever love story is just the most incredible feeling. We are SO happy for you Megan and Kieran! And humbled that you chose Hurkle Durkle to be that special place. We are Hurkle Durkle Hut in Northumberland, a little woodland cabin surrounded by nature. This is the only cabin we have so once you go through the gate and lock the world behidn you it's just you and the owls babyyyy 🦉 And we are dog friendly 🐶

That's what it's all about. Keep it simple - when you arrive you're not overwhelmed with clutter and intricacies... This is about reconnecting you with nature... and what better place to do that from than the hot tub of course 😂🫶❤️

Seriously though, we all need to give ourselves a break sometimes. A break from people, from technology (no TV but we do supply wifi), from noise.

Lots of people who stay barely leave the hut, they nestle down and enjoy each other's company. Play games, watch the birds, watch the stars and soak in the tub. I think it's because we get a lot of people who come from Northumberland, The Borders and Newcastle! They haven't travelled far and just want a couple of nights away from it all to unwind, somewhere where they can feel completely alone and leave the world behind.

Simple, secluded and sexy. That's us 😉😂🫢

One cabin = no neighbours

There's only one Hurkle Durkle Hut... Once you go through your gate and lock it behind you, you become part of the woodland expanse. The birds, the owls, the deer become your new friends, and nature really is the biggest healer of stress. Leave it all behind, unwind in the hot tub, cook food over fire, star gaze and listen to the fire crackle.

There is no TV ❌️ although we have provided WiFi. There are board games, books and there's a radio. Cook together, play together and be at peace in each other's company.
