A Christmas market break in Europe sounds tempting, but which city would suit you?

Vienna and Bruges would be two of my suggestions, depending on who you’re travelling with.

I like the idea of Vienna if you want more than a market-focused trip. You can mix festive stalls with palace visits, museums and café stops. For families, that gives you options when little legs need a change of scene. For couples, there’s plenty to make a few days away feel special.

Bruges would be my suggestion for a romantic break. Its canals, cobbled streets and compact historic centre lend themselves to wandering together, with chocolate shops and cosy places to stop along the way. I’d suggest it for couples who prefer a slower pace over a packed sightseeing schedule.

Budapest is worth considering if food plays a big part in your holiday. Hungarian dishes and festive market food could make choosing what to eat part of the fun.

The right choice isn’t always the biggest market. It’s the city you’ll enjoy beyond the stalls, too.

The last hotel we visited whilst on our amazing week away in the beautiful Mauritius was Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa. What a place to finish!

Set beneath the spectacular Le Morne mountain, this all-suite resort has such a beautiful Mauritian feel. Think tropical gardens, thatched roofs and a gorgeous beach overlooking the turquoise lagoon. 💙

One of the highlights? Even more choice at mealtimes! Guests can also dine at neighbouring Paradis Beachcomber, with dining arrangements depending on your board basis and restaurant reservations.

Just under two weeks ago I was soaking up our last night in Mauritius on the Elite Experience 🌴✨

We were so spoilt. Dinner in a private beach villa 🏖️, our own live music, a private bar 🍸, and the most incredible BBQ as the sun went down. 💛

I loved looking at options for this client - they have gone with an 8-day Classic Morocco tour to celebrate a special 60th birthday.

Marrakech, colourful souks, epic scenery and a week of “we’ll remember this forever” moments. I can’t wait to hear all about it when they’re back.

We returned the hire cars and checked into Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa. Then it was straight to the beach to make the most of a rare pocket of free time. The grounds are beautiful, and dinner was (of course) up to the usual Beachcomber standards.

The next day was a full one in the classroom. We dug into the Beachcomber product, but we also spent time looking at our own business plans. Real numbers, real targets, and what it takes to grow properly. One of those learning days where your head feels full, in a good way.

By the end, we were ready to switch off. We were all looking forward to letting our hair down for our final night in paradise....:(
