Left or right?

I know they’re almost identical, but I’m convinced everyone has a preference. 😹

Bailey & Luna would like to remind you to bring dog beds and blankets 🤭🐾

If your little dogs are anything like mine, they want to be wherever you are and as cosy as possible!

We regularly clean our sofas, but we also work hard to keep our pet-friendly caravans fresh and welcoming for all guests. Bringing your dog’s favourite blanket or bed helps keep them comfortable while helping us keep the caravans in great condition too 🄰

Next time I stay, I need to film an evening vlog - or invite you all over for a girls night - because there isn’t a single picture that captures how cosy it is in here 🄰✨

🐶 Would you book a pet-friendly caravan?

Some people wouldn’t dream of leaving their dog behind.

Others would never stay in a caravan that’s allowed dogs.

Which are you… and why? 🐾

On my recent post, I got quite a few comments about the living room - the words uninviting & bare were used.

That genuinely surprised me! I actually feel like I’ve decorated almost every corner šŸ˜…

But now I’m curious…

Do you think this living room is uninviting? 🪓

šŸ” Let’s talk about decking…

When I asked where I was going wrong with my caravan, around 90% of the comments told me to get decking.

So I thought I’d explain why I haven’t… and then you can tell me if you still think it’s the right decision.

The biggest thing is the cost.

I can’t just buy decking from anywhere - I have to use the park’s approved company, and the quote I had for a tiny piece of decking was around Ā£7,000 😳

And the thing that keeps playing on my mind is this…

Would spending £7,000 really bring in £7,000+ of extra bookings?

Because that’s what I’d need it to do before it even starts paying for itself. And that’s before taking in to consideration the cleaning, maintenance & seating etc.

Our other caravans without decking have been doing well, so maybe decking isn’t the whole answer after all.

So what do you think?

If this was your business, would you borrow the money for decking, or would you focus on getting more people to see the caravan first?

I’d genuinely love to know where you stand.

P.S. If you’re one of the people who said you’d only book a caravan with decking… don’t worry, we do have those too!

I wasn’t expecting my last post to blow up the way it did, but it’s one of the best things that’s happened to my little business. 🄹

A lot of the advice was unfortunately too expensive for me to act on right now (decking… 🫣).

But that post gave me something I needed even more.

It helped me reach the right people.

Because so many of you commented, Facebook showed my post to over 200,000 people - around 70 times more than I would normally reach.

You’ve helped Home At The Bay reach families who’d never heard of us before.

So here’s something to think about …

Maybe the problem wasn’t the caravan after all.

Maybe I just wasn’t reaching the families this caravan is perfect for.

And that’s exactly what you helped me do because we now only have 2 short (Mon-Fri) breaks left in August in this caravan!

A few days ago, I genuinely thought I’d have to let this caravan go. Now, for the first time in a while, things are starting to feel hopeful.

Although I can’t act on most of the suggestions right now, I have taken them all on board. Over the next few days I’m going to go through them & explain why some are possible and why others aren’t, and I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

Who knows… you might even change my mind šŸ˜‰

And yes… maybe one day I’ll even be able to get that decking 🤭
