A new, exciting race is coming to Swaledale on Sunday 4th May, the Reeth 20K Trail race (http://www.gr8events.org.uk/event/reeth-trail-20k/). Come and stay at Grinton Lodge (1.5m from race HQ) and enjoy our pasta party the night before!

Gr8events are proud to introduce a totally new trail running event in scenic Swaledale. A challenging 20k circular route, heading up to and along the hidden dale of Apedale, before returning across the river to Reeth. Superb setting and stunning views throughout. Situated on the southern slopes of Swaledale, YHA Grinton Lodge is surrounded by stunning scenery and exceptional views of the Yorkshire Dales.

For walking holidays there are lots of routes throughout the Yorkshire Dales National Park for varying abilities and for anyone doing the Coast to Coast walk, YHA Grinton Lodge makes for a well-deserved stop-off point. If you’re on your mountain bike, set off from the Youth Hostel and choose a path to suit you.

The Youth Hostel is just a 10 minute walk from the village of Grinton which has a cosy pub and a small church. If you’re exploring by car or bus, the larger historic market town of Richmond is 10 miles away. Richmond Castle is a must-visit tourist attraction and there’s a cinema, art gallery and heritage centre to keep you entertained.
