Pry House Farm B&B Keld, Swaledale Pry House Farm B&B, Keld in beautiful, unspoilt Swaledale. Farmhouse bed & breakfast in an unrivalled setting. The skies in Upper Swaledale are spectacular.

Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park surrounded by the rugged beauty of the fells, natural hay meadows, walls & barns. Pry House Farm is a working hill farm situated 2 miles west of Keld close to three major long distance walks; the Coast to Coast, The Pennine Way and The Herriot Way. Pry House mixes home from home comfort with Yorkshire Dales welcome to make your stay as relaxing

as possible. The stunning views of the meadows & fells, the peace & quiet, the abundance of wildlife and amazing night skies makes Pry House so appealing to so many. The two guest rooms; double with king-sized bed & spacious ensuite and twin room with large private bathroom have their own stairs accessed from the guest lounge making Pry House ideal for families and friends. The comfortable guest lounge is the perfect place to meet & relax with fellow guests. The lounge has an open fire for winter nights and opens directly onto the front garden on warm summer evenings. Breakfast is taken round the farmhouse table in the warm & inviting dining kitchen. We pride ourselves on serving quality produce sourced from local butchers & food outlets. Pry House is a haven for bird lovers and the perfect place to observe them. We have many ground nesting birds; curlew, lapwing, oyster catchers & ring ouzel to name but a few. House martin, wren, finches, blackbird & thrush are regular visitors and owls can often seen in the early evening. In summer they are expansive, changing constantly with the light and at night the stars take your breath away, particularly when the Milky Way is visible - amazing. Being a working hill farm we are happy to share our knowledge of the dales and answer all your questions about our way of life, high up in the Yorkshire Dales. If you happen to come at lambing time you may see a lamb being born or get the opportunity to bottle a lamb, at haytime you may see the bales being led in and smell the sweet new hay as it is stacked in the buildings. All year round Chris is busy with the sheep and it is not unusual to come across our sheep being driven down the road by farmer and his dog. Welcome to Pry House Farm - we hope to see you soon.

Great place to stop for coffee & cake or lunch when you are in the Reeth area, either enjoying one of the many walks starting in Reeth or merely passing through.

We weren't expecting that when we opened the Darlington & Stockton Times newspaper this week.. Our cafe reviewed in the Eating Out feature by Hannah Chapman. We think the visit was made on a very busy Bank Holiday weekend. Really great review, we're well pleased with that. Thanks to Bren and our awesome team for all the hard work, keeping standards high and great customer service.

Where would we be without tractors? They're work-horses, ancient and modern, used as transport, haulage and even a focus for leisure time tinkering?

I've often thought that if tractors carried a list of the jobs they do on their rear, bad tempered motorists travelling behind them on narrow country lanes would feel very differently.

Is there any other vehicle that inspires such incredible love and loyalty as the humble tractor? Obviously much of this is due to the tractor's many essential roles in farming but it feels like more than just that.

Toddlers can go into raptures of joy just to spot a tractor toy, and are beside themselves when they see the real thing. For some that attraction never goes away. Look at the line up of tractors at one of our Dales country shows, and you'll see the pride and love for even (or maybe especially?) the oldest, most basic models, They've been fettled and polished, absorbing countless hours of care.

This weekend Tractor Fest takes place at Newby Hall & Gardens where you'll be able to see hundreds of tractors and machines, as well as a slightly strange sight commemorating D-Day - a life-size knitted (yes, that's right) tank created by a committed team of volunteers. More tractors can be seen at Masham Steam Engine and Fair Organ Rally on 20th and 21st July.

You can also see some lovely line ups at our agricultural shows through out the summer.
